Budget in Akasaka

Location is very good for this hotel. It says Akasaka, but I think this is more like Roppongi Hills? Neighborhood is good with several small bars and restaurants, quiet and residential like. If you want a crowd and a more lively scene, head down to Akasaka, 15min walk. Rooms and hotel is very frugal and you don't hang around. Free WiFi which works good, but only in reception area.

Great hotel near a subway station

Asia Center of Japan is a really great hotel to stay at if you find yourself in Tokyo for a few days. The staff can understand enough english and some of them can even speak it fluently. The rooms are kind of small, but that was to be expected. You get a bed, desk, tv, internet access via ethernet cable (which is fast) and the usual hotel stuff like towels, bath robe (japanese style), toothbrush etc.. The hotel offers free breakfast buffet (which was great because it was really convenient and delicious too!). Some western style food with some japanese style. The biggest plus I felt was the free water. They have a fridge in the front lobby that has tons of bottles of water that you can take freely. Saved me probably 1500 yen over the course of the 3 days I was in tokyo. Overall, the hotel was very much worth it, with a location right around the corner from a subway station. Convenience stores and restaurants litter the streets around the hotel and the area is quiet. I recommend this hotel highly.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you find yourself going on the subway, get a day pass (710 yen) if you will be out all day. Just 4 rides pays (180 yen each) for the pass and beyond that you're basically getting free rides.

Just the Ticket in Tokyo

Stayed with my family of 4. Got the family room and it was plenty big enough for our needs (certainly bigger than our friends who stayed nearby in a more expensive option). Good location close to 2 subway stations. Hotel was "spick and span/clean as a whistle", the staff spoke very good english and were all to happy to assist with any enquires I had. Free water was a bonus. Breakfast was included in the price but it could only be described as average.........but then again it was better that looking for something outstide the hotel.

Jump on at Nogizawa station and take the trip to Meiji-Jingu for a great shopping experience in Harajuku - you can even sprinkle some Japanese culture into your day with a visit to the Meiji Shrine while you are there.

Good choice in Tokyo

Asia Center of Japan was our place to stay in Tokyo for 3 nights. Location of that hotel is excellent. It's just few minutes walk from two metro lines (of course I was always taking wrong underground exit, lol), surrounded by upscale buildings, some shops and restaurants. There is as well (approx. 50 m from the hotel) "restaurant" with real Japaneese food where you have to order and pay for your dish using kind of vending machine. Location is great for sightseeing, but definitely not for nightlife and parties. We had booked semi-double room. Room was quite small, but comfortable and really clean. Size of the room was as I expected. Hotel provided as well good quality toiletries and some kind of kimonos. Fast, in-room internet was free of charge. Bed, as all room, wasn't the biggest, but again really comfy and offered good and easy sleep. Reception staff was extremely helpful and nice. Whatever we asked for, they tried to help. Thank you for that. There are some maps and brochures available as well as free bottled mineral water (you can take to your room or when leaving hotel for day sightseeing). Rate I paid was very good comparing to other hotels in the area, but not that liked by other guests. That was good choice. Breakfast was included in the rate and here I can't agree with some of the people before - I think it was good choice, fresh and tasty selection of cold and hot dishes, European/English and Japanese meals. I enjoyed that all 3 days. I was glad, I've chosen Hotel Asia Center of Japan. Next time I would definitely consider staying there again (even with small room).
