Shimoda City is known as the port to which an American fleet, known as Kurofune (the Black Ships), entered in the 19th century demanding the establishment of trade with Japan. (07/08HT) It is a modern, 6 storey white building on the top of hill located on the Simoda Coast. The hotel is located on the coast of Shimoda, south-east end of Izu Peninsula. It takes 6 minutes by taxi from Izukyu Shimoda station on Izu Kyuko line that directly connects to JR line. It takes approximately 90 minutes by rapid train from Atami, one of the stations on bullet train (Tokaido Shinkansen). Also it takes 160 minutes from Tokyo by express train named "Odoriko" without making connections. The hotel provides free shuttle bus to / from Izukyu Shimoda station.
All rooms are vary in size but large on average. All are simple décor and most of them are partial ocean view. All are equipped with an in-room safe, refrigerator and a television (local language program only). Internet access can be available in some room with fee and upon request in advance.
