Built in 1909- Nara Hotel is known for its classic- historical architecture of the wooden main building- and it has kept as elegant- as traditional as when it was built 100 years ago. Located on the hill within the well known Nara Park- which is famous for its wildlife deer- the hotel is also within walking distance to many tourist attractions such as Todaiji Temple and Kofuku-Temple Pagoda. Rich in history and culture- the hotel welcomed many world celebrities including Albert Einstein- Helen A. Keller- Jawaharla the then prime minister of India- Jawaharla Nehru- and Audrey Hepburn. Also the hotel is frequently used by the Japans royal family. Within the new wing built I 1984- the hotel has 129 guestrooms- 4 restaurants and bar- and 6 banquet and meeting rooms.

The hotel is nice looking with

The hotel is nice looking with a traditional Japanese kind of building look but inside is really quite western looking. The room and shower room are quite spacious and clean. The staffs are friendly and speaks English and Chinese. It took us around 15minutes (with a slight uphill slope) on foot to reach the hotel from the Kyoto subway station (not JR). At night there really isn't much place to go since it is all dark outside the hotel.
