Nagasaki has the most varied history of any city in Japan and is now a busy and modern city but its unfortunate past as the second atomic bomb target obscures its early European settlers history and subsequent importance. Still very much an international city and visitors can enjoy the city and surrounding areas with this hotel as a convenient access base. (1010yy) The building is a high-rise 10-storey modern building. The hotel is located in the heart of Nagasaki city, twenty minutes walk or five minutes by taxi from JR Nagasaki station. The nearest tram station is just a minute walk and a few walk famous China town from hotel. The bus terminal for public airport transfer is opposite to the hotel, It is approximately forty minutes drive from Nagasaki Airport to Bus terminal.

The Washington hotel is literally

The Washington hotel is literally located right next to Nagasaki China town, about 2km from Nagasaki Station and less than half a kilometre from the port area where there are ferries, department stores and food. Not far away is a cheap homewares department store where you can get just about anything. The Chinatown food choices are great where you try the local specialities. The room was quite clean. The bathroom was okay but the tiles looked a bit cracked and old and showing its age. The room size was reasonable for a single. Not all the Hotel information was in English so setting up the internet was a bit confusing and misleading. The LAN cable was hidden behind the TV and the Hotel staff did not speak much English. Staff were not as friendly and polite as in Hotels in Osaka and Tokyo but they were okay. The room was clean, okay and central to a lot of attractions. Lack of English signage and inhouse literature could be a lot better for Foreign tourists.
