Excellent location directly opposite

Excellent location directly opposite the Kyoto Station. Rooms are compact but well equipped (Main building Premium floor). Quick check-in. Did not eat in-house as there are so many other options nearby. Very quiet room despite being located in such a busy area. CNN in English free to room. Would stay here again.

very well located hotel, next

very well located hotel, next to Kyoto train station. Makes life very easy for all sigthseeings. Many options for food and shopping just accross the road. Rooms are small as everywhere in Jp, but confortable enough with fridge, tea making and a small table with 2 chairs. Everything is good, apart from Internet access. They do not have wireless, although they have cable in the room. Not sure if it is free or not. They have only 2 computers in business center and costs Y100 per 10 min. I do recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very good location near Kyoto

Very good location near Kyoto Station with lots of restaurants and shopping. Convenient to other locations from the local bus terminus. Don't forget to get the 500 Yen all day bus ticket. Free internet via cable connect to your own PC in room, disappointed that there is no WiFi. Staff extremely courteous. Strict check in time of 2 pm.

I was expecting a rather ordinary

I was expecting a rather ordinary stay, but was overwhelmingly and pleasantly surprised. The staff were fantastic - really went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, from their outstanding concierges (whom we threw lots of out of the ordinary requests for information) to their porters. The room itself (we stayed in a deluxe twin room) was wonderful - the bed a little hard, but you got used to it, hard beds are very Japanese! Location was fantastic, a great base to explore Kyoto, either by train or bus, and close to the Kyoto station malls which have cheap food. The only reason I would rate it lower than a 5/5 was the Internet facilities, the desktop is old and can only be used for 30 minutes at a time, which is fine really when you are on holidays and just picking up emails. But I would not want to be finishing off some urgent work- better to bring your own laptop if this is is going to be the case.

We spent 5 nights here. Loved

We spent 5 nights here. Loved the convenience next to the train station. The beds were firm but okay. The twin room we had was the size we are accustomed to in North America and thus very comfortable. The hotel offered free use of a computer for 30 minutes to check e-mail. Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. Would stay again.
