- Kohakuan is in an excellent location with easy access to popular sightseeing spots such as Gion, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Sanjusangen-do, and Fushimi-Inari Taisha, and its just one station away from Kyoto station. Located in the corner of good old shopping arcade of local neighborhood, its a place where you can feel the atmosphere of the downtown area. There are also rare cultural heritage sites and secret spots for great scenery in the proximity of the inn that are only known to selected few, and its an area where you can re-discover Kyoto.

The welcome and local knowledge
The welcome and local knowledge provided by Hiro was superb. The experience was great. As well as the convenience store across the road there is also a larger local shop around the corner and with a little exploring many other shops. Would definitely stay again and would recommend for longer stays. The Tofukugi shrines in the area are also worth visiting.Close to the road but traffic is quiet during sleep periods and did not present a problem. PS with The JR Pass the one stop from Kyoto Central is no problem.
