Full-service hotel near conference center
Hotel Avanshell Kyoto, situated in the northern end of the city, close to Kyoto University and the International Conference Center, offers comfortable accommodations and welcoming amenities to both business and leisure travelers. Featuring three restaurants, meeting and conference rooms, complimentary parking, business center and a complimentary shuttle bus to the subway, the Hotel Avanshell Kyoto is minutes from many tourist attractions in Kyoto.

Reception staff patchy in quality

Reception staff patchy in quality of service provided - some are truly outstanding while others clearly require more training. Shuttle bus service from hotel to and from Kyoto Station, and willingness to drop passengers off at locations along the way is very helpful. Internet cafe was out of order, which was a bit disappointing, though free internet connection is available in room. I'd recommend this hotel overall.

Great value

The hotel was not an easy walking distance from public transportation (but was doable) after a long day of being on your feet unless, perhaps, you're younger. It does have an hourly shuttle that goes to/from the main train station. And it's quiet. The rooms are smaller. Restaurants are in the same building. Everything is clean and adequate. The staff was attentive. The price was very reasonable for Kyoto making it a great value.

good location

Location was good for our purposes. Two double bed room was too small for 4 people. Good for 2 people. Good location for shopping.
