Too bad the bus entrance greeters aren't running the place
For 10 years, I've always been impressed by the care, attentiveness and professionalism of the young women who oversee the bus entrance. Compared to them, the rest of the hotel is a big disappointment. The New Otani Makuhari is a massive hotel that was probably nice in the 90's. These days you get a second rate experience characterized by high prices, weak staff and rooms in need of updating. I routinely stay here but only because of location and because it's better than other Makuhari hotels (which is saying very little). What I find most annoying is that even as a "New Otani Club" member, on top of high room rates, I end up spending $32 a day for slow Internet because these clowns charge per connection. So even if you bring your own travel WiFi router, you get dinged $16 per day per device to use both a laptop and a smartphone. Nice.
