The south side of Jamaica offers a chance to truly relax and unwind
Jakes Place is located on the less populated and more relaxing south coast of Jamaica, Jakes Place is a hideaway where guests can do as much, or as little, as they want to while on vacation. Lounge in one of the unique, thatched roof "chic shacks," stroll the six miles of beaches and coves, or swim or snorkel the day away. Watch local anglers pull in the catch of the day, or travel to some of the more populated areas for shopping and activities. Guests should visit YS Falls, with its seven tiers of waterfalls and several swimming holes.
3 Reasons To Stay:
Enjoy all that Calabash Bay has to offer, including nearby YS Falls
One of the best island restaurants on the premises
The "chic shacks" are a unique, island favorite -- along with the on-site Pelican Bar
Jakes Place Rooms
Jakes Place offers 35 rooms, most of which are in individual buildings scattered throughout the lovely grounds. Most guest rooms face the water and offer impressive views. Each building has been individually decorated by Sally Henzell in a bohemian Moroccan/Caribbean style, and features earth colors with flashes of glass or stone. All rooms feature four-poster beds with mosquito netting, and most rooms have air conditioning. Rooms are telephone- and television-free, perfect for a secluded getaway, but guest rooms do include a small refrigerator and a music player. One television is available in the game room and there is Wi-Fi available in the larger common areas. Two villas are available for those who want more space while at Jakes Place: a two-bedroom cottage and a larger, four-bedroom villa. Each has its own staff and all hotel facilities are available.

great spot. literature says no children; there were children. food was fine and service well done. Rooms had no TV's but no good reading lamps nor comfortable furniture to read in. Beautiful and relaxing spot.
