Beautiful Resort!

The resort is in a beautiful location! My only complaint (and I don't really know if I should clasify this as a complaint at this point) was that our cottage was not ready when we got there and we had to sleep the first night in one of the courtyard rooms. The second day, our cottage became available, the staff moved our luggage to an upgraded room (ocean front) while we were away on an excursion, and we had an amazing time! Everyone at the hotel was friendly, especially Harvey (our favorite bartender). Peacocks roam the grounds, you can play chess with a life-size chess board, relax by the pool, enjoy snorkeling, or have a nice meal at one of the restaurants. We really enjoyed the a la carte restaurants for dinner, so make sure you reserve a seat if you prefer a quieter meal without the crowds at the buffet. The food was excellent. The hotel staff truly seems to want you to have a great time! The mosquitos start biting at night if you are around the bars, so be sure to go to the store on the resort property and pick up a small bottle of bug spray! If you want to have a very relaxing trip and not spend a fortune, Royal Decameron is the place to be! I will definitely return!

Dunns River Falls is a great place to go! Just try to avoid the locals who want to "give you" something and then expect a large tip in return, and don't pay someone else to be your guide because your entry fee includes an official guide from the staff at the attraction.

Great vacation for the price

We loved the cottages - very cool. Good food at specialty restaurants and the buffet....staff was great. Night time entertainment was so-so. Really enjoyed ourselves, plenty to do or nothing if that's what you choose.

Don't bother shopping the market places in Ocho Rios, very bothersome and the same island souvenirs every where you go.......

Laid back Jamaica!

We stayed in one of the cottages. Felt much more private & personal. Not a luxury resort but nice. Much quieter than some of the big ones. Don't have blaring music at the pool all day & night. Beach front cottages would not be as quiet as the garden one we had but they are steps from the beach. Food was good. Buffet was as good or better than the ala carte. Beach was small & water kind of rough but we were there in December, maybe seasonal.

Be sure to book snorkeling & glass bottom boats as soon as you can. Red flags were up 4 of the 6 days we were there - no boats go out.

Good Value

We wanted an inexpensive getaway to lay in the sun and were not disappointed. We stayed in one of the royal rooms ( not a cottage ). It was spacious and clean, the bath was large with plenty of water pressure. The rooms are somewhat dated but suited our needs fine. Food was good but probably could use a little more variety. Staff was wonderful, very helpful if you needed anything. Plenty to do when the weather is nice, not so much when it's raining. Did not take any excursions as all we wanted was peace in the sun. Over all, it was a nice getaway and we would go back again.

Royal Decameron Hospitality

Graciously given a room at Club Ambience the first night due to overbooking. Happy to stay the remainder of our week at Royal Decameron Club Caribbean. Delicious meals, drinks remembered and poured without asking, peaceful shaded sunbeds at both of the pools and long stretch of beach. plenty of watersports and tours for the active. only thing missing would be coffee maker in the room and fluffy pillows.

Great Place

The hotel is oceanfront and has plenty of chairs for you to enjoy it. The Staff is exceptional, the cottage was all I could ask for, There was a glitch in the check in process but it was resolved the following afternoon. The food was average buffet style food with very little change throughout the week but we always found plenty to eat and drink the entire stay. I have stayed at this resort once before and would gladly return.

Awesome trip!

The Royal Decameron Club Caribbean was just perfect for our trip. My husband and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary-it was our first trip out of the US. The resort is small but had everything we wanted. The cottages are all single dwellings and very clean with plenty of room. King sized beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was nice with a very large shower. Our room had a small closet area with ironing board & lots of storage for clothes. We can't say enough good things about the atmosphere-when they say "Garden Cottages" it really is garden-like. All types of plants and flower hedges border the walk ways and it's just beautiful. Palm trees, banana trees, mango trees-everywhere! The food was great, also! Plenty of selections-with fresh fruit and cheeses at every meal. We ate at all the restaurants and really enjoyed the buffet the best. We also really enjoyed nightly entertainment. The dancers were fantastic! The staff was awesome! Everyone there treated us so well! The bartenders were just amazing! Very entertaining and talented-especially "bad boy" [...]and [...]. We are definitely going back and we will stay at this resort.

Don't pre-book any trips-book them when you arrive. Not a problem at all and you will probably get a better deal.

would stay again

We were supposed to stay in a cottage, but were switched to a suite. We had a nice view of the mountains and enjoyed the suite. The staff at the hotel were polite and easy to get along with. We enjoyed the show they had everynight, and were very much entertained by the fun crew. We enjoyed snorkeling and the glass bottom boat. I noticed how well staff interacted with the children who were at the resort, and would really like to bring my own children back. It would have been nice to not have to pay for internet access. This was our first trip to an all-inclusive resort. the food was very good, and we really want to go back next year.
