Franklyn D Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Our vacation nanny made our vacation all the more enjoyable. She was a great fit for our family. What excellent customer service and personality!!! We will be repeat customers for sure.

The nannies totally make it worth the trip. They are great and our children had a blast with them. The food and accomadations are just ok but the nannies make it great.

We have been at this resort several times already. The experience has always been great. The staff is fantastic, there is a nanny that takes care of the kids from 9am to 4:30pm (included in the hotel rate), good activities for both kids and adults, and the place is quite nice. The beach is a bit tiny, but more than enough for kids and adults. They pick you up at the airport and from that moment you don't have to worry about a single thing, so it's incredibly relaxing.

This is the best place to go if you've got little kids! This is our third trip to an FDR resort (one to the former Pebbles and the last two times to the Frankly D) and we are already planning our vacation for next year. There are no marble foyers or bellhops, but the vacation nanny is the most wonderful experience ever! Every time we have gone, our children (now ages 2 and 5) have really taken to their nannies, and my husband and I have really been able to relax. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff is very attentive. The only real downside is that the drive from the airport is a bit long, especially after the kids have been cooped up in a plane for a few hours, but it's doable, and worth the wait.

This was our 3rd trip to FDR in the last 3 years. It was as expected - which is great for a family. We will return again if possible. Why we go: -The nannies - ours is Jennifer who is wonderful -The location - beautiful, protected from the wind and seas -Family atmosphere - everyone is friendly and generally well behaved -Other staff - everyone is friendly and welcoming -Crowds (or lack of) - generally not overcrowded -Comfortable (but not luxurious) -Beach grill - jerk chicken, pork, etc...Yummm What some don't like: -small beach area (but great for young children) -food - good but not "fancy" -amenities - it doesn't have the most, the newest, or the fanciest

This was the best family trip ever. The nanny made the trip. We loved her. The kids were totally safe and had a blast. Plenty to keep them busy while you were on the beach or by the pool, or played some of the "resort games" The staff was very friendly. The foods was ok. Plenty of food that the kiddos would like. The beach was ok but you could use the beach next door and that was awesome. The rooms were ok. Nothing really fancy but the service totally made up for everything and they were clean. We will be going back next year.

This was the perfect place for a family with small children. The rooms had a great set up. The staff was beyond helpful. Best of all was the vacation nanny! Our children, aged 15 months and 4 years, really bonded with her. She stayed with us on the beach and kept an eye on the kids so that we could relax until they decided that they wanted to do something else. There were lots of children's activities. There were activities for adults and sports equipment that could be used, but we were content to just sit on the beach. A real plus was the dining venue. Everything was right on the water. If you are looking for a place with bellhops and marble foyers, you won't find that. But, if you are looking for a fairly small, relaxed place where you don't have to worry about your children and everyone can enjoy themselves, this is the place. The one thing that may be a negative is the beach. If you are expecting a big expanse of pristine white Carribean beachfront, you will be disappointed. The beach was a nice little cove area. No waves, fairly shallow, a little rocky not far off shore. It was great for little kids, and nice if you just want to cool off or float around on a raft. If you want to actually swim, it's not the place. The only other potential issue is that the ride from the airport is a little long (1 1/2 hours).

This was our second visit to FDR - we previously went last year, also in January and also for a week. Our stay overall was very enjoyable and relaxing and we will hopefully return next year. The big draw is the nannies and feeling comfortable that our 1 year old and 3 year old are in good hands. We were able to have the same nanny as the first visit and an additional nanny because our kids can have different nap schedules. It is very nice and easy to hang out with the kids with the nannies helping or to do adult only activities. Other pluses are the very personalized service given it is a small resort, the spacious rooms, the beach-side food stand with excellent jerk chicken and pork, and the typically very friendly and helpful staff. The food is okay to very good depending upon the night with up to three different restaurants to choose from. The atmosphere is very, very family friendly and singles/couples without kids would probably want to look elsewhere. With good weather we were able to snorkel, take the glass bottom boat trip, go kayaking, and spend a lot of time at the water's edge. Its not a great resort for adrenaline junkies but great to relax, unwind, and take life a little slower with the family. Another plus worth mentioning are the numerous exercise activities (given unlimited food and drink...). The equipment is okay to good but access to a personal trainer to work out with, and the large variety of active activities to participate in throughout the day are excellent. Biggest minuses - maintenance is just okay in many areas, beach area is fairly small (but protected), food can be hit or miss at times, and fake lime juice in the drinks. Far more pluses than minuses and we will hopefully count ourselves among the annually returning families.

I was looking for a place where I could dive with my wife as my kids (2 and 5) have fun. FDR was a good choice. You get a nanny for all your stay (from 9 to 1 and 2 to 4:30), you can extend that period for 6USD per hour. Between the water slide, the sea, the pool and the kid center, my kids had a lot a fun with a careful nanny. On our side, we were able to do nice dives with dive center located on the premise. Our trip (mid October) was off peak, so we had mostly anything for ourself. I am not sure everything is that simple when the place is crowded. But the staff is really nice and helpful so they will help you to make this trip as nice as possible.

Our 3rd year back says it all. FDR is a superb resort for families and one of only a few that offers each family a children's nanny for the duration of your stay.
