Very relaxing and much needed vacation
We spent 5 nights at Sandals Negril during the last week of August. Hands down, the staff are second to none! Everyone was so friendly. Chris at the pool/piano bar would bring us out a special drink each day when we got to the pool, also his co-workers Veniece, Andrew, Sandra and Ricardo were all extraordinarily friendly, fun and helpful. Omar at Bayside was awesome and so was Floyd at Sundowner. Ann Marie and Aundre at Concierge worked very hard to resolve an issue we encountered. The photographers seemed to always be available, they were good at what they did and were a lot of fun. Everyone seemed to have an attitude of "No problem, Mon." The food at the beach grill was wonderful! LOVED the Jamaican Patties and had some every day! We were disappointed that Kimonos was closed, however we were able to enjoy the one at Beaches. We ate breakfast at Sundowner twice and loved it, we also had a fantastic dinner there. The dinner and shows at Bayside were excellent. Breakfast and lunch there were buffet, meh. The pizza at Bella Napoli was good and so was Barefoot by the Sea. We weren't that impressed with Dino's. We were, however, very impressed with the beach grill and the level of pride the chefs took in preparation of the delicious grill food they served. It was by far the BEST outdoor grill/lunch food we have EVER had at ANY resort during any trip we have taken. Our room was always clean and the refrigerator was well stocked. The room itself was a bit dated and the shower was a bit "temperamental" as far as temperature goes. We have stayed in many newer and more beautifully appointed hotels in Mexico, for quite a bit less, so for the amount it cost to stay at Sandals, we really expected something special. That being said, the room and bed were comfortable, there was a nice TV and the air conditioning worked extremely well. We took a tip from a review we saw before we left and kept our bathroom door closed at night. Some mornings we woke up so cold that we actually had to turn the A/C off! We didn't take advantage of any of the snorkeling and diving activities, we did hear great things about them from other guests. We were mainly there to relax. The sea was very rough for the first couple of days we were there due to TS Isaac. The clouds made for some beautiful sunset pics! We really liked the small size of this resort as we got to see several of the same people and still enjoy peace and quiet time together.

Needs Major Renovation
I expected much more for the amount of money I paid. My wife and I spent four nights at Sandals. Honestly we were ready to leave the resort within a couple hours of our arrival. Jamaica and the majority of the people outside of the resort is an amazing experience. People who travel infrequently probably would disagree with my review.

New Years Eve 2012
We went for the first time 12/29-1/3 and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The place is beautifully maintained, the entire staff is very friendly and accommodating and the food is uniformly good in all 5 or 6 restaurants. The crowd was a nice mix of ages and it was never loud or crazy. We had a fun time on the 3 1/2 hour sunset cruise that stopped at Rick's and Margaritaville that was definitely worth the extra $80 pp and my wife loved her massage/facial/bodywrap at the spa. We've already booked for next year, though we're going to try Sandals Whitehouse.

Go down to the beach at 6am or earlier and reserve a couple of beach chairs by putting a pair of flip-flops or some other personal item and a couple of towels on a chair. Otherwise you'll have a hard time finding an empty one. This was the only annoying thing about the resort as some people would reserve chairs then not show up till the afternoon!

Already planning my next visit.
The resort was the site of a destination wedding. My hopes were not high thanks to others reviews. I had a great time. The staff was great. The trip from Montego Bay was stressful just because the traffic is different from what I am used. It was scary but it was worth it. The resort was beautiful. The water was fabulous. I think some of the restaurants left a little to be desired, at times. The jerk chicken at the late night grill was amazing. We only had time to enjoy the glass bottom boat ride due to wedding tasks. I was very impressed by the wedding host and reception hosts. The staff members really made the trip. The omlette was great.. i had it every morning =)

I wish they told me about the hurricane.
Hotel was under renevation due to the hurricane. The Beach smelled like a latrine. The restaurants were on the beach. Smelled so bad put your stomach off. Only three of the 6 or seven restautants were open. A lot of the food was frozen and reheated. Yuck frozen waffels.

Mojito Shortage! Main pool disappointing
We complained every day that all their bars were out of mint and couldn't make mojitos (essential for Caribbean resorts). Only one of the 4 days we were there, they could make mojitos for a short time. We also found a flying cockroach in our restroom (which housekeeping promptly took care of). The snorkeling was good. The staff was friendly. Wish they provided free wi-fi as well (should be part of an all-inclusive)

Short walk from hotel
Don't get the private cabana's - it's a rip off. Also, a short walk from the beach has good souvenir shops (much cheaper than the resort shops).

It takes to long to get to the resort
The Bad: Jamaica is a very poor country, and everyone outside the resort tries taking advantage of you. The resort is all inclusive to a point, there are a lot of activities that are not included that they will bother you about constantly. The check-in can also be very confusing if this is your first time to Jamaica, they don't really explain a lot. The Good: The staff is very friendly and energetic, the ocean is beautiful and the entertainment is fantastic. There are lots of things to do, and see.

First timers soon to return...
We heard great things about this resorts and we gave it a try and it was great!! We wish stayed longer and next time, we sure will. All the staff were friedly and helpful; dining options were great, our favorites were beach grill ( must try jerk chicken sammy & ribs) and buffet restaurant (try local foods, they are very tasty and fruits- star apple- were very good); amenitiles were unbelievable! drinks (bottled water, OJ, coke, Jamaican fruits drinks etc) were complimentary in the mini fridge and big bottles of shampoo, conditioners, aloe vera lotion and body lotion in the bathroom. My husband really enjoyed playing games such as valley ball and horse shoes with various staff members; night entertainment was fun, especially if you participate; great activities were included (snorkeling, waterski etc) was so much fun. Take advantage of doing these activities multiple times as the locations of snorkeling changes. Beautiful beach and great drinks add to a memorable trip for you! We 100% recommend this place for your next trip destination!!!

If you could try all the restaurants, do it! Although we LOVED the beach grill the most! Many dining places do not require dress-code, so you can travel light!
