Couples only

The place has great potential. It is a beautiful spot. The food was good but I didn't like the short time they give the guess to eat. For bread fast 7:30 to 10:30 and they didn't start until 8 am and by 10 am they were picking things up. The glasses at the main bar at night were dirty with lipstick so watch out other than that it good. Love the do recommend the martini bar the bartender was great and clean glass. :-)

Much needed getaway

1st time there and have traveled all over. The ocean is best I have ever seen. Yes, a bus ride aprox was 1.45 hours but the views made the trip seem much shorter. The folks at the hotel were SO GENUINE when wanting to accommodate to assist you. They cared about their guests and would anything to make you enjoy your stay. Shevelle at the main buffet took care of seating us and getting me my morning mimosa - out last day there was my birthday and she made sure I had champagne and she also made this most beautiful bouquet of flowers from her garden. So unexpected, word got around it was my birthday and everyone was so attentive to wish me a happy birthday - it was like they appreciate everyday of life. The hotel was SO relaxing and the beach - well never seen anything better. We saw the most beautiful fish and stingrays walking the beach - you could touch, if you dare!! Everyone had smiles and much peace. Our room was beachfront and well worth every penny spent! so fantastic - however the balcony was very small and difficult to get in and out.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Pay for Mo Bay - VIP Lounge - you gave to leave the hotel early, my flight was at 2:25, had to be out front of hotel to catch bus at 9:25. This allowed for the distance of bus ride and to pick up other passengers along the way. Once we got to the airport, all we did was check in at the kiosk (we did carry on so we did not have to stand in a 2 hour line to check bags) then went directly to the VIP Mo Bay, they got us thru immigration and customs at the front of the line and took us to the VIP lounge where we had full bar and food (that took maybe 20 minutes!!)- we had aprox 3 hours before boarding so well worth. They do have an adult lounge separate from families w children under 18. The place even had a mini spa and showers for convenience!! Would NOT recommend this on the way in - you are on a schedule and do not benefit from the services if you are getting in before noon - their time.

Nice Hotel

Stayed at this hotel in July 2014. The grounds are very pretty and clean. The rooms were clean but we had to constantly ask the room keeper for amenities such as shampoo, soap, towels, etc. The food was average. The pools and jacuzzi s are not used very often because most guests use the ocean. Snorkeling around the hotel was good.

Will definitely go back

Great location on Bloody Bay -- beautiful beach, blue water and great snorkeling. Rooms are not fancy but are clean and comfortable. Ours was first flood and on the water so the French doors were handy when we wanted to relax on a chaise under a tree in front of our room. Food was good. Lots of variety at the buffet. I am a picky eater and always had plenty to choose from. This was out first time to Negril and we want to go back. When we do, it will be to the Grand Lido Negril.

Great Stay at Grand Lido Negril

We really enjoyed our 1 week stay for the following reasons: 1. Location, resort layout and beaches were wonderful. 2. We enjoyed sailing the Hobie Wave catamaran every day. 3. Snorkeling was wonderful. 4. Had a great room near the nice clothing optional beach. 5. A great long sandy beach for beach walking. 6. Staff were friendly and accommodating. 7. Food and restaurant selection were great, especially the Jerk Lamb prepared by Derrick and Japanese style served by Robilee. Although we had no complaints, this resort was built as a high class resort, and could use a few minor fix-ups, and re-decorating here and there..

Mistake!

Update planned for 2014.....in meantime could do some basics, clean it up, have fridge and air on upon arrival. Dirty bedspread, power outages, poor service and food at cafe (waited 1 1/2 hours). Jets in tub and hand spray did not work. Was told it cost extra to get a room where they worked. Brochure very misleading. Pics of Gran Lido--Braco? Food in Dining room and restaurants good. Was "hasseled" almost every day to spend an hour and half of vacation time to listen to "Reps" "speel". Our "reward" five days free...wouldn't every go back!! Front desk people :( other staff nice.

Mr

The rating of 4 stars is incorrect. Expecting a 4 star set up only to see upon arriving that it is well below that standard males for an disappointing experience right from the beginning. Should be the other way around if anything. This, of course, reflect also on the travel company's rating standard. Otherwise I felt well looked after organizationally by The travel prganisation

Enjoyed our stay

This was our first stay in Jamaica. I was impressed with the hotel and the value we got for our money. Our room was clean and elegant. The cleaning staff did a great job. The grounds were well kept and the food was great. The hotel is scheduled for renovations and that will make it even better. I did see a few bad reviews and was concerned, but I just think sometimes people look for the bad and it blinds them to all the positive things. Just be aware that if you go in the value season, the place isn't exactly hopping at night. We just hired a taxi driver and went to some of the local night places. Hedo across the street was even pretty dead at night. It depends on the season.

Stay Away!

Horrible hotel!. It`s dirty, it`s old, it`s out of date. My wife broke her toe on debris thrown on the ground by staff. Management shrugged their shoulders and said so? I asked Management if they would at least pay for the taxi ride to the hospital and they said no! Money and merchandise were stolen from our room when we weren`t there... Management shrugged their shoulders and said so? Front desk lost my bag and when they located it 2 days later, they brought it to me and asked for a tip. Huh? There was hardly anyone at this resort which should have been a warning to me, as I figured other people had gotten the word about this place! The only thing I can say positive about this place is that we weren`t killed!
