The Wexford Hotel

hotel not the best, the free breakfast was the best.

Upon arrival staff was friendly and offered a welcome drink. Check in was not bad and we were escorted to our room. The elevator is old and did not smell too good. The room is spacious but very simple. The balcony is a nice size, only thing is that the garden view is not very nice..The place needs some renovations and upkeep to the property. The best part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast that was offered. The staff was very friendly and the food was great! If you want delicious Jamaican dishes. if you are looking for more american dishes, you will not find that here. If you are plannig t o stay for more than 2 nights, I would recommend go someplace else.

The hotel had no fridge, radio was a transitor rado, hotel wait for the romm was 3hr wait. Security was rude the only thing good was the food. the hotel food staff was great.

The hotel is close to beaches and hip strip. The Pelican restaurant and few other places to eat and drink are next door. So, the location is very good.Do not count on sleeping at night at this hotel, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. The nightlife is not simply loud - your walls are vibrating from the boomboxes and the music outside. On weekdays it lasts until 2 am, on weekends until 6 am. So, it's better if you plan on going out, although the choice of places to go is not very big. If you get a room with a garden view rather than the ocean view, it may be somewhat quieter.Staff is unhelpful except the guy named [...]. If you have a problem, better to wait until his shift; others are not worth spending time on; they won't solve anything anyway. When we moved in, they told us they can't find the key for the safe in our room. We spent few hours on our first day trying to get either the key or another room. It wasn't resolved until [...]came and gave us a different room. Interestingly, we got to know a couple staying in another room later, and they also had a problem with not having the key for the safe and they were also told that was the only room in the hotel without a safe key. So, if you hear something like that, know you're not the first.Now, breakfasts in the hotel are really good. It's a buffet with meat, side dishes, fruit, pastries, and hot serial. The choice is not huge, but you can eat really well. Our problem with breakfasts was that first they told us they were included with the room, later they said we have to pay, two more days later they said we have to pay even more. Rules are changing on the go. Keep that in mind.Last thing. When we were moving out I needed to store my suitcase somewhere for few hours. Turned out they don't have a luggage room. They suggested to leave it by the hotel entrance virtually unattended as the doorman is never in his place. They were absolutely unwilling to accommodate any customer's needs (I imagine is wouldn't be very difficult to put my small suitcase either in some locked room or even by that reception girl, so that it is watched).Anyway, it may be worth going to this place if you get a good deal, but if the price is high, you may find a better value for money in another place.

This hotel on has a great location, I have been at plenty locations and hotels in Jamaica. Unfortunately, I would not recommend anyone to book a STAY AT THE WEXFORD. The hotel is over price for what they offer. Difference in rate if your an oversea travellers and locals. THINGS I RECOMMEND CHANGING IMMEDIATELY: 2.NO INTERNET ACCESS AVAILABLE in rooms (LOBBY AREA only) 3.LOW PRESSURE OF FAUCETS (WATER) 4.AFTER A FLUSH-CONSTANT RUNNING TOILET 5.HARRASSMENT BY STAFF REGARDING PARKING AND ENTERING HOTEL PREMISE-There is a difference between security and harassment your staff should be aware. 6. Not accommodating FOR BUSINESS USERS REGARDING INTERNET 7.NO FRIGERATOR IN ROOM (NEED WITHOUT a CHARGE) 8.CRACKED MIRROR IN ROOM WITH DRESSER 9.RECOMMEND SHELF ABOVE CLOSET AREA 10.IRON AND BOARD NEED TO BE AVAILABLE WITH THE ROOM 11.ANTS (WHY) IN ROOM 12.WIFI AREA-(RECOMMEND ANOTHER DESK AND CHAIR) EVEN IF YOU ONLY HAVE ONE COMPUTER 13.MORE ACCOMDATING TO CUSTOMERS (SOMETIMES YOU MAY NEED TO BREAK POLICIES) 14.SAFE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN ROOM (WHY DO YOU CHARGE TO RENT PER DAY) I UNDERSTAND THE $100 HOLD FOR LOST KEY 15.NEED A TABLE ON DECK AREA WITH CHAIRS 16.MORE THAN ONE GUEST NEED ADDITIONAL ROOM KEYS (OR AT LEAST AVAILABLE) 17.DOUBLE STANDARDS WITH DIFFERENCE IN RATE AND CHARGES –LOCAL OR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS 18.ADVERTISED POOL –NO LIGHTS – NO STEPS INSIDE- NO LIFE GUARD??? 19.MORE PILLOWS

This was very nice. Staff were very helpful. Best thing lots of restaurants within steps and entertainment. At the end of it all you can walk to the airport,.easily and do a little shopping on the way.

I've traveled to Montego Bay 3 times in the last few months and I always stayed at the Wexford--it's like something out of 'Cheers' when I come in and everyone greets me like an old friend. The rooms are clean with all wood floors, the TV has a million cable channels, the food is pretty decent, and it's just down the street from the hip strip and several beaches. It would be 5 stars if they had wi-fi in the rooms!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights three days in July. Prior to staying here we were at the Big Apple. Much better service, rooms and food. The Wexford is not all the it seems upon entering the lobby. I would rate this place a 1 star hotel for the high price.
