sisters weekend
this was my 2nd trip to montego bay in 2 months and i was glad i didn't stay here the first time as then i wouldnt have wanted to come back. i did not think it was worth it. too big and not as personalized. Food: it had the same meals in the buffet and grill everyday and if you wanted to go to 1 of the 3 other resturants you had to make reservations 3 days in advance Staff: when we say they are on island they are on island time they do not do stuff in a quick fashion they are slow unless you keep asking them waterpark: they closed the slides at 5, the swim up bar was not open late, the hot tub was not hot ocean: the sand was not soft it was very rocky

Great R&R
I spent most of my Jamaican vacation at a smaller resort off the beaten path, but I spent my last night here in Montego before flying out. Check-in took a little while, but with the bar and pool only a few steps away it's not a bad wait! Would definitely like to stay here again and explore the area.

Not bad, but not quite what I expected
First let me say that the resort was very clean. But I really wish there was a requirement for hotels to update pictures on the websites. It seems that the pictures you see are generally when it was first built and it doesn't seem to look the same when you get there. We've stayed at a lot of all inclusive resorts and the service at Sunset Beach was simply "average". As with most of the resorts I've stayed at, the bed is like sleeping on a board. Way too hard. One more thing, there were lots of small children at the resort. I can only assume this is because of the waterpark. So if you are looking for a quiet place this is probably not for you. If you have nothing to compare it too you will have a great time.

Great value for your buck!
Great breakfast buffet, omelets made to order. Lunch buffet was good as well. Three restaurants on site that require reservations well ahead of time. Dinner buffet was just as good, pasta bar made to order. Great for kids, water slides, lazy river, pool volleyball, interactive entertainment on stage. Felt safe letting them roam the resort. Clean rooms, tower more updated than the low rise but the first floor low rise rooms have direct access to the beach and tiki bar. Overall, not top notch but excellent value for your money.

Sunset
The hotel was a great value for the price, just don't expect high end amenities or food. Could use more night life options, and bathroom upgrades.

Average room
The view from the beach is stunning but that is b/c Mother Nature is in control. Rooms are average. Food quality is poor, they have restaurants but same food available at buffet. Drinks are watered down. Everything is overpriced. More for families not couples.

Fantastic.... From the min we got off the taxi and the bell hop (wade) grabbed our bags to the very end... The employs make u feel fantastic, they ensure u enjoy ur vacation and help u get the most of it by recommending different things to do... Maurice @ the concierge desk knows the island and gives the best advance... But wade knows all the local deals and spots...

HORRIBLE!
First off let me admit I knew this was a 3 star resort when booking, however....it should be a 1 star! The rooms are horrible, the doors don't even close all the way, no hot water-ever, dirty and old, needs updates. Never any clean towels for the beach/pool area. They never clean up at night for the next day. We sat next to a chair with towels on it for 3 days in a row, with no person with it. Also, none of the lounge chairs were in decent conditions. THey are all torn, sagging, broken, etc... Only 10 umbrellas available by pool/beach in case you wanted some shade, so you hade to fight to get one, we never had one. The food I knew wouldn't be good - but really? Also, the kids so called ice cream machine only worked 1/2 the time and only for a few hours a day. The staff were not friendly or courteous at all. We paid for a ocean front room and was told they were booked when we got there. THe alcohol was unbearable, so not even worth the 'all=inclusive' aspect. I would not go back even if you paid for my trip in full. The beach was very small, but only good thing is the water was pretty and snorkling decent.
