Honeymoon paradise

The resort was great always stuff going on whether it was in the pool or on the beach or at night. Should of used the room service more, we didn't think about it enough. The reservation only restaurants aren't all that, not worth going out of your way to hit them all. Make sure you confirm all the excursions are booked correctly, it appeared they do everything with pen and paper. Just relax and enjoy PARADISE!!

Not as inclusive as advertised

Room didn't offer room service like advertised. Some breakfast items available in the morning for room service if ordered in advance. Hard to find something to eat at all times... Eating tooks some planning, which we didn't like. Though no tipping is advertised, the driver from the airport doesn't work for the resort and asks for tips. Resort bartenders not very friendly if you don't tip. Water sports were fun and available readily. Beach was nice. The bed was not comfortable, was squeaky and the wooden frame was situated so it actually hurt our legs getting in and out of bed. Bring your own pillow if you like neck support. Overall a cruise offers better eating and service for the money, but the water sports included at Sandals made the trip. Though if you're a drinker the drinks included also helped in the value, but be sure to bring tips if you don't want to be made to feel like you're putting out the bartenders when you ask for a drink. We won't be back but it was a good experience.

EXCELLENT COUPLES GET-A-WAY

OMG!! This resort was excellent. We have stayed alot of places but the staff here was EXCELLENT! It was on the pricey side but worth every penny! Our room was literally 20-feet from the sea and 10-feet from the pool, it could not have been better. Excellent food and staff, also. We were like a part of their family, truly. Would highly recommend to any couple needing to re-kindle their relationship.

Perfection realized

I can't say enough about this resort. I stayed at the Atlantis in the Bahamas a few years ago and thought I would never achieve that level of excellence again. Sandals Royal Carribean proved me wrong. As soon as you arrive you can't help but be amazed by the beauty. Indulge in food, drinks, water sports, sunbathing...not to mention pools, beaches & excursions. We went on a sunset cruise and went zip-lining, both of which were exhilarating.

I would definitely recommend the excursions in Ocho Rios and Negril. About a 90 minute drive, but well worth it due to the natural beauty of the island.

Great Honeymoon... After the first night

We had a wonderful honeymoon at Sandals RC. The staff was friendly, the activities were fun, and the food was better than most AI's that I've stayed at. The only issue we had was that we had to do a little arguing for our room. We booked through a travel agent and requested that whatever she booked us put us in a BEACHFRONT room. No garden-view, ocean-view (that usually means partial) or anything else that didn't provide us with a 180 degree view of beach and water. We arrived on a Monday (which I think was part of the issue since most honeymooners arrive on Sunday) to a very friendly front desk. When they gave us some papers to sign and fill out, I noticed that the place on the sheet where the room number was entered had been whited-out and a new number was handwritten in it's place. We were then shown to our room. My personal theory is that the room we were supposed to have must have been given away the day prior (hence the white out on the sheet) because the room we were shown to was simply terrible. We paid a lot of money for a "beach front luxury" room and this first floor room was in the back corner of the building, furthest from the beach, had a bathroom infested with mosquitoes, no fridge or minibar, a tree directly in front of it, and a few feet beyond that, shrubs that blocked any view of sand or water. When I expressed my disappointment, the bellman told us there were no other rooms available, but that he would inform the Front Desk and get back to us. We waited a few hours and they never did. Now, this is when I appreciate having a travel agent. After no response from the front desk, we contacted the travel agent, and a few distressed overseas phone calls later, we were contacted by the front desk and told that we would be shown some options the next morning! I have never heard of this. So, either GOOD JOB TRAVEL AGENT, or GREAT CUSTOMER SVC. SANDALS or both! We had a beautiful room right in front of the volleyball courts on the beach, fully stocked minibar, and liquor in the room. After that debacle, we had the most wonderful time. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. By the end, most of them probably knew my name and DEFINITELY knew my husbands name. The resort even offers you the opportunity to scuba dive as a beginner, which we did. Moral of the story: Amazing place. I would definitely recommend it. Just remember that if you arrive on an off day, make sure to double check your room category. :)
