Nice Hotel - Great Value
Had a very nice 3 day stay at this hotel. The hotel and grounds are nice and the staff is great. If you are looking for luxury this is not your place. If you are looking for a nice place for a great price this fits the bill.

It's worth it - awesome time!
Very nice if you're not planning on spending your time inside the hotel, I never cared much about the hotels as long as they have the necessary things like soap, shampoo, hair dryer and some decent tv channels if you're interested in a show before you fall asleep. The food was good and the entertainment was also good. I have no complaints at all except for only one: I was transferred to another Decameron for 2 days due to "unforseen" circumstances, where there were a lot of french people and they had to translate all the entertainment pieces, I didn't like that. So, don't go to that one. It's like a french club.

Better Than it's 3 stars
If you are looking for loud, party all night, type of hotel.. this is not for you. Its was quiet, layback atmosphere with beautiful water for miles. Its not huge so the food was always fresh and well cooked, flavorful, great! The staff and fellow guest were polite and personable very family oriented, and right in the middle of the hip strip, good stuff. I will be staying there on my next visit

Short walk from hotel
You should use jamaican money when you there its cheaper, if you have jamaican, when you buy something its 5 in jamaican, but if you only have usd they will always say 10. The best exchange rate is the Jewelry store on the left side of the block about a 8 minute walk up the strip. Go out the gate make a right its on the left. They give you the rate of the day no more no less. If it's 89.99 per usd they give 89.99

I think the hotel shuts down too early, there's really little nite life after 11pm however, the hip strip outside of the hotel is happening, margaretaville is awesome, the bobsled cafe is also nice, there is a night life but outside the hotel, the strip is very safe lined with shops and bars I had a great time and met great people, probably permanent friends and the hotel staff was awesome." I'LL BE BACK"

Ok service and old building
The first impression we received was of an old building, keys to the room were regular keys, not cards, there was no shampoo in the room and begged for two days to get three small bottles, they sprayed this thing to kills instects at 7 pm which was dinner time and was impossible to eat having to inhale all of the spermicide that was around, too many restrictions, we couldnt bring food outside of the restaurants and service was poor, people didnt care.

Get What You Pay For
Nothing really special about this place. It's not bad, but not great either. It doesn't cost a whole lot to stay here, but don't go expecting 5 or even 4 star quality either. Food was alright, we generally found something to eat everyday. It wasn't always the best food though either. If you're looking for a week away to booze and sit in the sun, this is your place. If your looking for any kind of luxury, look elsewhere.

Short walk from hotel
When your walking down the hip strip, be prepared to be hassled by the locals. Keep in mind this is what they do for a living and don't make a whole lot doing it, so I had some sympathy for them. If your not interested, just say no thank you and they'll generally leave alone.

Business trip
Everything about the hotel was okay. It wasn't anything spectacular. However, the beach was absolutely beautiful and so was the view if you get an Oceanview. We had to pay $5(that's US, not Jamaican) to use the internet for 15 minutes. Every 15 minutes, it will cost you $5. It's also $5 for 15 minutes to use the WI-FI. The food was okay. They served pretty much the same foods everyday, but the presentation was lovely. The food and drinks are unlimited in terms of the consumption, but are not unlimited in terms of the time of day you choose to eat. Overall it was okay i guess.

Easy-going Fun
The Royal Decameron was a nice hotel. The staff is really friendly and works hard to keep the guests happy. My husband and I had a great time kayaking and snorkeling. We also loved the giant chess set. There is a sailing instructor that doesnt give lessons but will take you out on the water. The food was so so good - really we were shocked that the buffet never disappointed. The evening shows were entertaining. The rooms are comfortable - nothing special but clean. The great thing is all rooms have a water view. The beaches have a lot of coral so step carefully so you dont cut your foot. The poolside bar and beach-side grill were perfect for afternoon snacks. There are plenty of lounge chairs for sunbathing, but they could use a few more beach umbrellas for shade seekers.

Unbeatable location for the price
Great for the price. THe staff was very friendly the food was good. The hotel location was great, we could walk the hip strip instead of paying for expensive cab rides. Recommend the party boat tour to dunns river which you can book at the hotel.
