Closet Bathroom
This was my 2nd time at holiday inn, first time was much better I loved it, I did not feel so strong second time around. more staff is needed expecially during meal time we had to wait at dirty tables in order to get one and the wait to get the table clean was too long with only one waitress attending to 10 or more tables. food was also better first time around.and the mix drink at the bar was just sugar and water. The room was smaller, the bathroom was a closet, I mean it had a closet door, it could not be lock & with 4 people sharing the room very inconvenient, I though this would be my vacation spot for the next couple of years but now I have to re_think that plan.I really loved the place on my first visit, what happen?

Amazing family vacation
From the moment we arrived we felt pampered, welcome, and refreshed. The staff was friendly and fun. The food and beverages were five-star. We took advantage of all the water sport activities, kids-club, swimming pools, pool tables, and the three restaurants. Live music and entertainment every night. We will definitely be staying at the Holiday Inn Montego Bay again. Be sure to try the Jerk Hut...

Please tip your servers at the bars and restaurants. The hotel tells you that gratuities are included in your package price, but the staff works really hard for $2 an hour. They deserve at least a dollar every time you belly-up to the bar. And say "please" and "thank you".

Pleasantly Surprised!
I just returned from Holiday Inn SunSpree. We were there from July 9 through July 13th. After reading all of the negative reviews, I was a little hesistant about booking here. I have been to Jamaica 4 times and we usually stay at a 5-star Ultra inclusive resort. I am happy to say that this resort really gave them a run for their money for A WAY BETTER PRICE! The room was spotless, the food was good, and the pool was great. The entertainment was pretty good. This resort is definitely family friendly, so if you are not crazy about kids, this might not be the place for you. However, they do have an adult pool area. All in all if you are ok about not getting butler service, this is a great choice for you.

Plan your dining experience wisely. You have to book reservations at the restaurants a day in advance. The Italian Restaurant is closed on Thursdays and you have to pay a $20 fee per person at the Japanese restaurant.

Lacking Customer Service
We were given a room with a broken air conditioner and after trying to fix it several times it finally worked, for one night. The next night I called maintenance at one something in the morning and the issue wasn't resolved until 6:30am. We ended up having to change rooms at 4:30am. I informed them I had a tour to go on at 8am and it would have to be canceled. I received a call at 7:30am (after sleeping only 1 hour in 27 hour period) and I was told that because I booked through an outside agency I could not cancel my tour and I would need to go on it, but that I could nap on the leisurely ride. I asked if it was a joke and told them the reason I am not able to go to the tour is because of them taking all night to fix the air conditioner. The next day I went to meet with Mrs. Hooper the Guest Services Manager regarding not being able to go on the tour. I explained the events of the night and she stated that she had inconsistencies between my story and the maintenance managers. I explained the events again and she let it be known that she did not believe what I was telling her. I told her I like the room a little cool and it wasn't working on 63 (what the hotel set it as) so I put it on 60 (which made the room about 70). She became agitated with me saying this isn't New York, this is Jamaica and I need to listen to maintenance if they set it at 63 not to touch it. I have never been treated so poorly in all my years of traveling. What happened to caring about peoples comfort? If I need the room set at 68 to sleep, then thats what it should be set at. The air was definitley controlled to be set at 70-72. In the end I missed a tour that I had waited 5 years to go on and didn't even receive an apology from the Manager. I will never reccommend this hotel, nor stay there again.

mo bay, yea mon!
It was great! I have nothing to complain about. I vacationed with my boyfriend for 5 nights. The staff were great, the room was spacious, the resort is huge, beautiful sunset, and a cute little man-made island not too far off the beach. There are plenty of entertainment and activities to do for the couples, children, and elderly. I love me some jerk chicken from the motherland. I recommend you book the restaurant you want to go to a day in advance. They have 3 separate restaurants that needed reservations. And then you have the buffet. All are included in the all-inclusive. Unless you want better seafood selections, then you'll have to pay an extra $25 per person. Not much of an alcohol selection though; it's all about the rum. Should definitely try the "bob marley" drink. You can book the excursions on this site or at the resort. Definitely book them early and you must call to confirm. I usually do my excursions early and come back to the resort for some beach time. I didn't have a problem with finding a chair on the beach in the afternoon. It could also be because I vacationed during the week and not the weekend. It was a very peaceful week. We got there on Monday and left on Saturday. On Saturday, the chaos began at the front desk. The jerk hut was crazy packed, and the pool was packed with loud and obnoxious people. If you want to go out of the resort to check out the markets and shop around, the resort offers a shopping bus. It's inexpensive and they offer it every day. Only thing is, there must be at least 4 people going or they will cancel the trip. The driver will bring you to 3 locations and allow you to spend up to an hour at each location. It's pretty safe. And make sure you bargain with them or they'll rip you off. Overall, I would definitely come back with a bunch of friends or bring my future children with me.

Get what you pay for.....
The old saying goes you get what you pay for.... That statement is so true. Everything was average.... We went on a tour and our tour guide stated that Jamaicans always have a smile on their face and they are always friendly, we did not get that at this hotel. I must say that the most friendly staff members we encountered were housekeeping. They always greeted you and asked how you're enjoying your stay with a big smile, needless to say we went out of our way to find each of them and gave them a pretty good tip. The staff members in the restaurants and bars rarely smiled if at all. Overall we did have a good time. Would I go back to this hotel No, would I go back to Jamaica, absolutely.
