Horrible Hotel!!
Our check in took almost an hour, they would not tell us what the problem was. The all inclusive dining accomadations was terrible. The room was dirty and moldy. It was tile and the grout was very dirty/moldy. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The air condition did not work well. The bathroom was so small you had to step to one side to close the door. The door knob going into the room was broken, all you had to do was pull on it and it came off. I was very disatified. I would never recommend this to anyone nor would I go back. There was very little to do within the hotel complex.

Most horrible experience EVER
The Holiday Inn sunspree Resort Jamaica Bay was the most horrible experience of my life, minus the person I was with. The front desk was rude and took forever. Worst yet, the maid stole our camera and the list goes on. I will NEVER EVER stay there again. In addition, it is NOT a good place for adults because it is WAY TOO kid friendly. Other than that, I loved Jamaica, just not the resort.

The Casino across from Margaritaville was nice. The Dunn's river falls was also nice when you climb the waterfall all the way up.

Not worth your time or money
The staff was rude, and treated their friends who came into the hotel before paying guests. The food was not good, and we were hungry the whole time. We did not feel safe, and people offered us drugs. Do not go to a Holiday Inn; I will never go to Jamacia again because of this experience. We did not have fun, and the pool felt dirty. The room did not feel clean either, and we could not really swin in the ocean.

Old and forgotten
Hotel is older and it shows - resturants are not as advertised, most meals you are forced to eat at snack shacks or buffet style. Ocean view room that was booked and charged extra for I did not receive. Staff was friendly enough but one day the maid cleaned the room and never left towels. Not a place I would recommend. Hotel needs to add more availability to the resturants. Dishes as the buffet were not clean and I had to sort through to find clean plates, this was an everyday occurence at the buffet. Need to spend some time looking at the cleanliness of the facility and all that goes into that. Buffet served pretty much the same food everyday. Breakfast that items were under a heat lamp were always cold even though lamp was on - the only way you got a hot breakfast was to order an omlet that the chef would cook infront of you. The menu needs to have more variety day to day due the fact that most meals have to be eaten at the buffet.

The worse vacation of my life!!!!
Booked a room with a king size bed. Told on Saturday morning to check back in the evening, then told to check back on Sunday and then told again to check back the next morning. My girlfriend and I, here on what we hoped to be a romantic week, had to sleep in separate beds. No hot water for the first three days and had only a limited amount late in the evening the next two days. A water leak on the floor below no doubt led to the above problem. It also led to three straight afternoons of jack hammering. Then a fourth day of hammering to set the new tile. We were told it would only be one day, which then led to two and then a third. Then there were the errors in the gift shop. On 5 occasions the change for the purchase I had made was short. Once or twice I could maybe understand, but I felt there was a purposeful attempt to cheat me out of money. The front desk staff was anything but friendly and helpful. They acted as if I was a bother when coming by and checking to see if a room with a king size bed was available. Then they to gave me incorrect change when I need to settle the phone bill at checkout. It was not much but it just supported the pattern. And if you read the information on the phone in the room it implied that calls to cell phones were free. Maybe this was a case of me being stupid. Finally, though it apparently is the norm there, was the unbelievable amount of weed smoked at the adult pool, on the beach and all through out the building with the rooms. Staff thought nothing of it. My point is that if this is what happens in Jamaican resorts then maybe that those booking trips should be forewarned

Vacation 2009 Disaster
This vacation was a disaster. There were too many flies around the food and in the dining room. Our room did not get cleaned before 4p.m. The entertainment each night was just poor and catered to one set of the audience. There was no designated area for smoking, so people were smoking all over the place. This is no place for a family vacation.

Very hard to relax here!
My family simply was looking for a place that we could enjoy the scenery, relax and not have to many worries. Unfortunately this was not the place. They make it very difficult to eat at any of the restaurants (2 open at 1 time) book 2 days in advance and then having a dress code of no sandles for men and must have long pants for another. It is 90 degrees who wants to wear pants and closed shoes? The environment as a whole is very busy;people pushing to get in lines at buffet then you have to locate silverware and a table. It took a few days to get our in room safe operating and a airconditioner leak.We typically vacation where you can walk along the beach and swim in the ocean. The beach ends on boths sides of resort and the ocean is 3 ft deep before it gets roped off. I have visited Jamaica in the past(9yrs ago) and felt welcomed. We had a total of 2 staff members smile at us during our 5 day stay. I do not consider our family to be snobby in any way. We were expecting friendly service and for our stay to be relaxing and hassle free. Tips if you have already booked. Grab the jerk chicken from kiddie hut and eat down on the beach away from everyone else.If you want alchol in your drinks get a yellow bird.Bring along snacks the buffet food all tastes the same after a day and you might not get into any restaurants. This trip felt like WORK..what we were trying to get away from. Sara

Do not stay at this resort
We would not recommend staying at this resort. Althought the staff was friendly, this was not enough to make the stay enjoyable. We chose this result because it was a Holiday Inn and were extremely disappointed. The rooms were outdated and not very clean. There were insects including roaches. Also, the cable was not operational for three days. The food was horrible and often times cold. The only decent meal was breakfast. If you choose to stay at this resort, bring your own ketchup. The "beach" was small and not very clean. The best part of our trip was the ATV tour in jungle. The guides were awesome and will satify any need for speed you might have.

If you would like to see the beach but not to swim in it, it would be great. 1 foot water high. Bad service, drunk people everywhere. The entertainment? What is that?
