Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay All Inclusive

felt more like being in a dormitory with all the restrictions than a hotel.

I went here for my cousin's wedding, which turned into a family vacation, and it was my first time returning home since 2003...We had a blast. We did leave the hotel and drove around and stayed in Kingston for 2 nights, and I'd advise everyone who is comfortable to do that - but the hotel was great. The beach was amazing and there's a little island that you can swim to - its picturesque. Nightly entertainment was good and you got into the grove of things and it was just wonderful being "back home". Also, the food was good! And not "hotel food" good, but "mom cooked ackee and saltfish" good. This was our first family vacation and hopefully not our last and we would definitely recommend this place as a great value for your money.

After reading the mixed reviews about the Holiday Inn, I decided to take a chance. Let me tell you, it was great. Food & drink were above average (espcially for an all -inclusive). The resort was slightly dated, but the staff worked very hard to maintain what they had. Pool & beach areas were great, with ample seating available even though the resort was at capacity. The al-a-carte restaurants were very good & the staff was terrific all-around. We took my 4 year-old son, had a oceanfront room & loved every minute of our stay. Top notch for a Holiday Inn & a great value for families looking for a fun beach getaway.

The beach was beautiful, it was a very family friendly resort. The staff was generally very rude except when at the bar where they were nice and hardworking. Our maid complained about cleaning the room everyday and the staff at the restaurant was very hesitant to come and help you. The food here was great and there was a variety of choices for every meal. Guest at the resort were not treated equally. If only the service was as nice as the resort.

Good food, decent rooms. Not much night life, this place is very family friendly. Lots of lines, the staff moves at a certain pace regardless of how many people are waiting. The service people don't smile either. Good value for the price but I probably won't return.

You get what you pay for at this hotel. Overall, it was a good deal, however; don't expect anything top notch. The hotel itself seems a big run down, but you also need to consider that Jamaica itself isn't a fancy city. The food at the buffet, grill, and jerk chicken hut were pretty good on average. The a la carte menu restaurants I tried (seafood and italian) were not that great and I wish I had just eaten at the buffet those nights instead. NIghtly entertainment was good and there are some free activities(cooking and craft making classes) and shuttles (to Margaritaville and shopping) which are nice and convenient. The staff had a mix of friendly and rude people, and no one seems to be pressed for time which can be good or bad. It gives you a relaxed atmosphere, but if you're on time to everything you will end up waiting. This is primarily a family resort so there are a lot of children running around everywhere. Also, the security is good and I did not ever feel worried about my safety or belongings. Overall a good experience.

The staff greated us fruit punch and quickly checked us in. Although we arrived 4 hours before checkin, we were provided a place to change into swimwear, securely store our luggage, given our arm bands and encouraged to begin our vacation! Food choices were adequate, and replinished frequently. Our favorite meal was breakfast with freshly made omelettes by Paul. He was very friendly and entertaining to watch as he sauteed and flipped the omelettes. We were able to get reservations for the restaurants each time we tried. The pools and lazy river are a shallow 4 ft. If you are traveling with young children, this would be perfect! The beaches are also shallow and have several sandbars just off shore, making it a relaxing beach as gentle, small waves reach shore. Although the water is shallow with limited visibility we were able to see several fish while snorkeling. The hotel has several beach areas, each with its own personality. The East and West beaches tend to be quieter. The West end of the property is the Adult only swim up bar and pool and beach. The middle, with the island is lively and family oriented. The East beach is quieter. Each beach had plentiful umbrellas and chairs for relazing. We had 2 rooms. The first, had a king size bed which was very soft and comfortable. The second had double beds, which were firm and hard. The aircondition worked, but was difficult to cool the room. For the price we paid, it was an excellent deal! The watersports are owned and operated independently and not part of the Holiday Inn. They were the only negative experience we had on our vacation. They claimed the water was too rough to allow the sailboats out on several attempts. They take you out on the boats, yet one of their guides was unable to sail the boat back to shore and a 2nd guide had to be taken out in the speed boat to change out guides and sail the family safely back to shore. On our scuba dive, my daughter's regulators leaked air on both dives. After the first dive, it was changed, yet the new one leaked. She informed the dive master it leaked, and was told, it was fine. I observed 2 other divers with leakingregulators. During the dive she informed the dive master she was almost out of air. It wasn't until it was in the red zone, under 25 psi, and she showed him the actual gauge that he realized she was truly almost out of air and immediately sent her up to the boat. We booked 2 different tours thru the tour represntatives on site. They were friendly and helpful in discussing options. The buses arived on time, were clean and had excellent tour guides! Several shops are an easy 5 minute walk across the street, so there is no need to take a $60 roundtrip taxi downtown to Montego Bay to do some shopping. If you are looking for a beach to swim, snorkel and scuba dive, I would recommend looking at other resorts. I would recommend the Holiday Inn Sunspree if you have young children, or looking for a nice beach to relax and enjoy the sunshine. It is a great value for this vacation.

Food and entertainment wonderful, Christopher in the barefoot grill is definately a plus to holiday inn and served our meals always efficiently and with a smile, great place for family, mostly everyone is attentive and help you to have fun, keep it up holiday inn! I visited for a funeral but was kept in a happy mood with the constant entertainments and music. I really enjoyed.
