Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay All Inclusive

It was great! I have nothing to complain about. I vacationed with my boyfriend for 5 nights. The staff were great, the room was spacious, the resort is huge, beautiful sunset, and a cute little man-made island not too far off the beach. There are plenty of entertainment and activities to do for the couples, children, and elderly. I love me some jerk chicken from the motherland. I recommend you book the restaurant you want to go to a day in advance. They have 3 separate restaurants that needed reservations. And then you have the buffet. All are included in the all-inclusive. Unless you want better seafood selections, then you'll have to pay an extra $25 per person. Not much of an alcohol selection though; it's all about the rum. Should definitely try the "bob marley" drink. You can book the excursions on this site or at the resort. Definitely book them early and you must call to confirm. I usually do my excursions early and come back to the resort for some beach time. I didn't have a problem with finding a chair on the beach in the afternoon. It could also be because I vacationed during the week and not the weekend. It was a very peaceful week. We got there on Monday and left on Saturday. On Saturday, the chaos began at the front desk. The jerk hut was crazy packed, and the pool was packed with loud and obnoxious people. If you want to go out of the resort to check out the markets and shop around, the resort offers a shopping bus. It's inexpensive and they offer it every day. Only thing is, there must be at least 4 people going or they will cancel the trip. The driver will bring you to 3 locations and allow you to spend up to an hour at each location. It's pretty safe. And make sure you bargain with them or they'll rip you off. Overall, I would definitely come back with a bunch of friends or bring my future children with me.

The old saying goes you get what you pay for.... That statement is so true. Everything was average.... We went on a tour and our tour guide stated that Jamaicans always have a smile on their face and they are always friendly, we did not get that at this hotel. I must say that the most friendly staff members we encountered were housekeeping. They always greeted you and asked how you're enjoying your stay with a big smile, needless to say we went out of our way to find each of them and gave them a pretty good tip. The staff members in the restaurants and bars rarely smiled if at all. Overall we did have a good time. Would I go back to this hotel No, would I go back to Jamaica, absolutely.

We had a great time at the Sunspree. If you keep in mind that this is a 3 star resort, you will definitely be pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and the food was very good. The baked goods were excellent. We are from New York and are very picky about pizza. Surprisingly, the pizza was VERY good. If you dont like the choices at the buffet for lunch or dinner, there is always pizza. The jerk chicken at the Jerk Hut is also excellent. The kids walked the place like they owned it, and loved feeling "grown-up" when they walked up to the bar for a piña colada. There was a snack shack called "jus kiddin" that they could get ice cream, nachos, hot dogs and popcorn. The Barefoot Bar had a grill that you could get hamburgers, French fries and grilled cheese. The rooms had space to move, but the bathroom was a little tight. The mattresses were hard and the sheets were scratchy. Make your dinner reservations for the al la carte restaurants early as they tend to book up. Overall we had a great time. I definitely recommend the Sunspree and would go back again.

Overall a great time was had by all. Great value for the money. The beach and the pool were close enough together that the kids were able to have a little freedom. Food was what I expected, the jerk chicken & pork were delicious. The staff were friendly and tried to help with what they could. I would go back with my children again. Weather was perfect.

We went to Jamaica to eat, drink, relax during the day and party at night, and that's exactly what we got. Food, beer and cocktails were plentiful as the hotel has great variety of restaurants/bars, from your barefoot tiki bars to elegant italian. Hotel had dancing lines and contests everyday by the pool stage, and live music every night. Free shuttle to Margaritaville club every night. Plenty of chairs at the beach, free kayaking and snorkeling. Hotel has a dreamy private little island across from beach, less than a minute-walk in waist-deep water. Rooms were not great but my teenagers, hubby and I didn't spend much time in room. Best staff in the world.

This hotel has many fun sport activities for the family including the game arcade for the kids. Snorkling beside the Take-it-easy Island was cool. Food spread at the buffet was good but wasn't tasty.

We stayed here 40 years ago on our honeymoon and came back for our 40th wedding anniversary. Things had changed but we had a very enjoyable time.

We had a nice stay at this HI Sunspree Resort. It was easy to get to from Sangster International Airport. The beach area and main pool area was nice and we really enjoyed it. Nightly entertainment varied in format but was enjoyable for the most part. Our room was OK and was comfortable. Housekeeping is clearly overwhelmed so expect delays in room availablility upon arrival & daily cleaning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dining was good but depends on what you prefer. This property needs an extensive remodel inside and out. We knew this in advance so keep your expectations low if you choose this property as there are newer resorts in the area. We rented a car (I recommend Avis - avoid Budget!) so we did not utilize hotel shuttle service. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Hotel has a large beach area, however it was mostly shallow, grassy and rocky. The positive was the man made island that was fairly good for snorkeling. The food at the portside buffet restaurant was pretty pretty good on 5 of my 7 day stay. The speciality restaurants that required reservations, the food was only average. One of the specialty restaurants sorrentino was closed for renovations during my stay. I have stayed at other all inclusives in jamaica before, Beaches, Riu. This hotel is just a step below in service but way ahead in value for your money. Beaches and Riu costs twice as much.

For the price we paid, we couldn't ask for much more. You get what you pay for. The beds are small and hard as a brick and they kept running out of wash clothes. The resort is very kid friendly. The food was on par for resort food but they didn't have food service at all times. The beach is nice and they have water sports for you. There are a few stores across the street, Bedazzled is the best store, Alex was great to shop with. I would go again if I had children but I'd advise couples to go elsewhere.
