Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay All Inclusive

We were kind of taken back when we showed up at the airport in Jamaica and there wasn't a shuttle to the hotel. We got to the hotel and everything was nice with the check-in until the bellhop took us to our room. Once at our room we discovered that the room was already occupied. We then had to walk back to the front desk where they had to give us another room. When we got to our room the air condition wasn't on and it was hot as blazes in there. In the five days we stayed there we could never get the room cold enough. We called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man up to look at the unit. He said because of the vaulted ceilings and the humidity that it was just working fine. We had the thermostat on 60 the entire time! What we found most troublesome was the food. The food in the main dining hall was not good at all. Every morning you have to get up to make reservations at the hotel restaurants (other than the main dining hall) This was very frustrating. When we got to the restaurants there was empty tables everywhere and people were being turned down contently. We were not happy with the main pool area. Loud music played all day and most of the night. We found a beach about half way down the beach on the resort from the pool and still could hear the music. My wife and I were not impressed at all. We came to the conclusion that "You get what you pay for" and that is exactly it!!!

Loved my experience at the Hotel, The staff was very nice and helpful, Room needs updating but overall i had a great time, the staff goes above and beyond service.

WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!! NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL!!! NO PROBLEM MON! AS THEY WOULD SAY IN JAMAICA!!! CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR!!

The hotel was very nice. The grounds were very well kept. The food was ok...... The rooms were very nice. Having a priority club card and tip got us very nice upgrade. So it's well worth being priority club member...it's free... Free laundry machines. So bring your soap!!

This was our second visit to this hotel since 2009. I think it has went downhill a little. The room was ok the food ok. The beach area is very nice. The activities and service was much better the first time we visited however. Some suggestions for the hotel... We had two families traveling together so we asked for rooms near each other, we were told they were "very close" ..NOT.. same building two floors away. Not that big a deal. The activities listed are only suggestions for the staff I think.. Rarely did any activity start on time if they did the activity at all. Again not that big a deal. Probably my biggest complaint was the air conditioning only worked fairly and the in-room refrigerator didn't work at all this was more important to us than most because we had an infant with baby bottles. Overall not that bad but will probably look for somewere else next time.

It was a very good experience, nothing was specifically spectacular, but nothing was terrible. It is a 3 star hotel which is appropriate. The food was pretty good, not spectacular, but the drinks were actually pretty strong, which was a huge plus. Good place to vacation in Jamaica for a reasonable price.

As always the staff was wonderful. Water main broke while we were there and we had to change rooms but new room had awesome garden and ocean view. My friend and I (both women) feel very safe here and are always treated with respect. Drinks are pretty weak but if you tell them you want top shelf that is hidden from view they get it for you. My friend that I traveled with lost her father just days before our departure and mother ill too. Her phone didn't work over there but Andre in the photo shop let her use his on a daily basis to call home and wanted to pay for it. Of course she tipped him well but in return he wanted to have drinks with "very nice American Ladies". We went across road to shopping area and Taxi driver helped us across highway and escorted us. When we came out of shopping area it was pouring down rain and shop owner offered us his driver to drive us back across the road. We have never had bad experience. It is not a 5 Star but who cares? It is clean, friendly, safe, and close to airport. We only sleep in our rooms for a few hours. The rest of the time is spent on the beach, by the pool, reading and relaxing. Will go back many more times.

It was comfy, food was good, staff was great!! Good location

Upon check in, after a 13hr flight..the hotel desk told us that the hotel was overbooked and they had to ship us to another hotel for the night. I could not believe that. The food was not good at all compared to other all inclusives we have been to. The hotel once we finally got there, the maids only came around at 6:00pm to clean..about the time when we were all getting ready for dinner, so our room did not get cleaned for days..I will never stay at this resort again..Next year we will choose Mexico instead..just as beautiful and alot better service and fod.

Food was ok, buffet could have been better. Watersports sucked, could not take the boats out of the roped off area right by the beach. Watersports staff always had excuse why they could not take you sailing, and closed too early every day. Entertainment was really good every night. Wait staff was very good, helpful and nice.
