quick trip
The hotel is situated at the valperato stop so is very easy to find about 30 mtrs up the alley. Our room overlooked the square and was nicely decorated with comfy beds. We visited in Nov and the hotel was warm. Breakfast is taken in the sister hotel near the water which suited us. Staff are happy and very helpful. If you turn left and left again when leaving the hotel, you pass shops and restaurants and get to St Marks square entering at the side of the Bailica, which you must make time to visit. I will be going back to this hotel.

Great Hotel!
For a reasonably priced hotel, this place was spectacular. The room we had was quite large by European hotel standards, very pretty, and quite comfortable. The location is superb, right near St. Marks and directly across from the San Zaccaria vaporetto (water bus) stop. The view from our room was spectacular, looking directly at the church of San Zaccaria and the small square in front of it. The concierge, Tomas, was helpful beyond words, and the rest of the staff were all excellent. We'd stay there again any time we are in Venice.

In Italy, look at the menu and the bill carefully to see whether a service charge is already included (and it usually is), before figuring out whether and how much to tip.

Great Location
Great location, very good breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff. In late October, it is cold and they didn't have their heating system going. Lots of blankets helped, but 60 degrees (F.) is too low.

Excellent location
We have been in Venice before so we did not do all the usual tourist things but went rather to more out of the way districts.

Loved this hotel
Great location, 5 minutes from St Marks square but mostly quiet. Close to restaurants and shopping. Right opposite San Zaccaria church which should not be missed. Breakfast was filling with hot dishes and attentive service. Beds were comfortable. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Great Beautiful Hotel~
The hotel is only 2 blocks away from St. Mark's square, and one block from the water bus stop. Very conveniently located. The room is clean and nicely decorated. We had a small balcony facing the square. It was nice and quiet. The shower did not work though. The shower/tub door did not work at all and you got water all over the floor whenever you shower. But overall, it's a great hotel!

Villa Igea was very close to the
Villa Igea was very close to the water taxi drop off and easy to walk around and find great shopping for souvenirs, beautiful custom hand-painted masks, however the food was very expensive and the quality was not there for the price you pay. I suggest skipping the restaurants and eat at a small bar or take-away place, or alternatively have a fantastic chocolate crape for dinner, like I did one night!

Villa Igea Venice
First off...I am a novice traveler. Venice was the last leg of a trip from Rome, Cinque Terra, Florence and Venice. The hotel was in a quaint little square in Campo San Zaccaria. The room and bath were small, but a lot of the hotels seemed to be that way during my Italy trip. The staff was courteous and the location was great. It was a short walk to the San Marco Square and to the water buses. The square in front of the hotel did get a little noisy with some partying pedestrians walkIng by in the middle of the night. We were on the third floor facing the square. The breakfast was average based on the three other hotels I stayed at in Italy... salami, cheese, croisant, fruit, yogurt... Overall I had a nice experience at Villa Igea.

Time-saving tip:
Long walk from hotel
If you are planning to do a lot of walking through the narrow streets of Venice and are planning to visit the other islands, I recommend getting a water bus pass for the time period you need. They were available at a little office at the train terminal.
