Great if you need airport or cruise port access
The hotel was nice, with some nice extras - slippers, robes, water and coffee at all times in the lobby, and a great buffet breakfast. A short train ride will get you into Venice or a bus across the street takes you to the cruise port. And you don't have to deal with dragging luggage up and down Venice's bridges. The hotel has a great shuttle service to and from the airport that is cheaper than the bus. The room was a little small by US standards, but about what one would expect. A nice place to stay, especially before or after a cruise.

Mr. Thomas
Hotel Tritone is a great place to stay when visiting Venice
We were completely satisfied with our two-night stay at the Tritone prior to our departure on a cruise. Located in suburban Venice, it is on the bus and train lines for an easy, short commute into town; and it is on the airport bus route for flights into and out of Marco Polo airport. The room is very comfortable and clean and the daily breakfast offering large and delicious. The neighborhood is quite fine with several restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. We changed money in a nearby bank getting good exchange rates without the excessive commission and fees that the Exchange offices give. Happily, we only exchanged a small amount of money at the airport, but what we got was 15% less than what we got at the bank.

Location, location
This is a perfect location for travelling at a very reasonable rate. The front desk staff are very helpful and informative and that alone warrants returning to this hotel. We were leaving a cruise and walked uphill (not all that bad) to the main street and hopped on the Mestre bus for 1.30 euro each and were left off right in front of the hotel. Sure beats the 35 euro quote from the taxi driver! My only complaint would be the noise from inconsiderate guests returning late that evening and lack of washcloths in the room. The breakfast buffet is unbelievable-never seen that much food at a hotel-ever! Shuttle service to the airport is also just across the street for 6 euro each.

Long Weekend
My daughter and i spent a long weekend in this Hotel and we certainly were not disappointed. All the front desk staff were excellent and very informative all our questions were dealt with no trouble at all. The breakfast was superb, everything you could ask for. The 15 minute bus journey to the centre of Venice would not put me off staying here again. We bought the 36 hour ticket for 25 euro each which you can use on the buses and water boats which we got very good use out of.

Good location
The Tritone was well located for our needs. My husband was on crutches so he couldn't negotiate any long distances from bus or train stops and the Tritone was as close to these as we could hope for. In fact there is a bus that runs directly between the airport and the train station across the street and about three fourths of a block from the hotel. Because of the crutches we couldn't do the vaporetto or any boats or water taxis and certainly not the bridges in Venice with our luggage. The room was small but clean and the bathroom was spotless. The mattresses were firm and comfortable. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but there is a coffee shop across the street in the train station where coffee, tea, hot chocolate and pastries are available. There also is a McDonald's there. In addition the Tritone is located near a couple of inexpensive restaurants. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful.

Hotel Tritone Venice, Mestre
This hotel was great. We visited Venice, Florence and Rome on our trip and the breakfast at this hotel was the best hands-down. The staff was very helpful and the location to the train station and bus line was right across the street. Public transportation from Mestre to Venice was very easy and reliable and ran until after 1am. The hotel recommended a local restaurant a couple of blocks away named Bepi Venesian and it was amazing. The food was good, affordable and the service by Alfonzo was excellent (he spoke very good English too). If you cannot afford to stay in Venice, this is a great alternative.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Save money by walking two blocks to the local grocery store and buy your bottled water and soft drinks there (which will cost you 1/3 of what you would pay anywhere else). The hotel has a small mini-bar refrigerator and you can put a couple of beverages in at a time to keep cold.

Great hotel and great location in Mestre
My boyfriend and I stayed here 3 days after our week long cruise so we could be closer to the airport. The hotel was very convenient to shuttle back and fort to Venice island. The bus stops in front of the hotel, the train station is just across the street and the airport shuttle bus was a few steps away from the hotel too. The area was safe and also close to restaurants and shopping around Mestre. I couldn't have asked for a more convenient location or a clean hotel. The staff were very helpful and the free breakfast was good too. I would stay here again!

Everything was fine.
There was nothing at all to criticize about this hotel. The staff was extremely courteous, the facilities were shiny and spotless everywhere. It was extremely convenient to be right across the street from the train station, even if the neighborhood wasn't particularly charming. The room was small but that's just normal for Europe.
