Enyoy the calm of the Lido
The Riveria sits just across the street from the Lido vaporetto stop, making it as convenient as a Lido hotel can be to central Venice. Beautifully decorated, with a charming gift shop attached. Very good value for the price; helpful, multi-lingual staff; 15 min walk to the Lido beaches which I recommend off-season, when they are quiet, but still sunny, in late Sept. and early October. Take advantage of the outside sitting areas (with views of the water) on the first and fourth floors, the doors to which are sometimes locked, but will be graciously unlocked for you by hotel staff.
