A tax has been imposed by the city for stays beginning 1 October 2012, and will be collected directly at the property. The tax ranges from EUR 1 to EUR 5 per person, per night. Easy airport connection while close to Venice city too
The plaza hotel is located across the street from the train station which takes you into Venice proper on a 10-12 minutes ride . And the hotel front desk will sell you a ticket. Also across the street is the blue bus to Marco polo airport ...about a 20 minute ride. Again you are able to purchase your ticket at the front desk.

it is all about the train station
the hotel is just across the street from the train station but still you cannot compare it to hotel in san marco. the hotel was not very clean and on my last day i smelled smoke of cigarrets. the breakfast was quiet good actually but the stuff didn't made an effort to fill the empty or to pay any attention to the guests. except this, the lobby was impressive, the stuff in the reception was extremely nice and the size of the room was satisfying. the main reason not to recommend this hotel is the location outside venice.

Good stay
Overall, pretty basic hotel requirement. Free wifi was what I am interested beside the hotel, as some hotel don't have wifi or charges. Clean, staffs very helpful, rooms feels a little aged, but just for stay at night was good enough.

Great for stay after cruise
We disembarked from a cruise in Venice and were looking for a hotel on the mainland to stay at for one night prior to flying home. This hotel fit our needs perfectly! For 4 of us plus luggage, it was a 32 Euro cab ride from the cruise terminal. The room was fairly spacious and very clean, and the bathroom was quite nice. The front desk staff was very helpful when it came to answering questions regarding getting to/from the island of Venice, as well as getting to the airport. After checking in, we had some time for sightseeing in Venice. Located just across the street from the Mestre train station, it was super easy to get to the island and back (10-15 minute train ride, 1.20 Euro per person each way). As for getting to the airport, that was easy as well. The hotel is located just across the street from an airport shuttle bus stop (20 minute drive, 5 Euro per person with luggage).

Great Location
This is a great location as it is steps away from Mestre railway station. Very convenient to stay here and take a train or bus to go to Venice. No need to carry the heavy baggage and climb the very many bridges and the two or three floor high stairways of the hotels in Venice!

The hotel was excellent, location
The hotel was excellent, location was directly opposite the Mestre Railway Station. The bus stop, accross the causway to Venice, was outside the hotel. Very convenient. The breakfast was good with a reasonable variety of food. We had a lovely big room. Very clean and tidy.

Clean convenient distance to venice by bus or hop on the train to go to Florence and Rome. I really appreciate their great breakfast service. It was an experience I will always remember. Thanks.

Plaza Hotel knows how to please!
Staff is very helpful and attentive. They know how to handle cruise customers and general tourists. Their breakfast buffet is excellent with great coffee. Very clean, nice rooms. Location is central. [...] is awesome!
