Pausania Hotel Venice

Welcoming, comfortable, quiet, good value, excellent location. 4 minutes walk to a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal; 7 minutes walk to Accademia gallery; 20 minutes walk to St Mark's Square. Good places to eat nearby.

A charming hotel, with friendly service. Very clean, decent breakfast buffet and comfortable rooms, modern bathroom. Stylish public areas with a sense of Venetian history.

We stayed here for a wedding for 2 nights in September 2011. Although it was a little hard to find at first, we ended up loving the neighborhood once we walked around. Close to St. Mark's and the Rialto. Had a nice breakfast and a computer w/free internet to use. The room was clean and was the only place we stayed in all of Italy that had good "American quality" air-conditioning.

It was our first time on Venice. The hotel is located in a great area. Close to the taxi boat. The staff is great, really friendly people. The room is really clean. The bathroom was a little small for a 6' guy. Overall, I will definitely stay on the Pausania hotel on my next trip!!!

The hotel is a beautiful converted palace. The room we stayed in had a beautiful fresco painted on the ceiling.It is located about halfway between San Marco and the train station. It is on a canal and near a couple of plazas.

Not too difficult to find, a short walk from Ca Rizzonica or San Basilio vapporetto stops. Fairly central but not overpacked with other tourists, easy access to the rest of Venice and surrounding lagoon islands. The majority of the staff were welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean and well tended, if a bit old fashioned in style. The breakfast was basic and fairly unappealing and the dining area is in need of redecoration. The street it is on is quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed wandering the nearby streets and eating at the restaurants at nearby San Basilio. A particularly good restaurant was the nearby Avagaria, expensive but lovely food - great for a special occasion/last night treat. AiOcho at San Basilio serves great pizzas and there are plenty of small bars and family run eateries nearby. As a gay couple we felt welcomed and comfortable staying here. The facilities for wheelchair users is limited. We would visit the Pausania again, it is not 5 star by any means, but we were pleased with our choice mainly because of it's location and use as a good central base to discover this beautiful city.

Room 307 was not ideal. Very small . Water pressure was unkind. The bath tub / shower was next to windows and when standing my bells swung at Venice just as the bells in the towers do. No problem tho... when in venice do as the romans do.

A notre arrivée 9h on nous a annonce que nous n'avons pas de chambre pour la nuit dans cet hotel SURBOOKING et que nous allons bénéficié d'une chambre de même standing et se fut fait (un peu plus bruyante surtout par le passage d'une ruelle très fréquentée) et à quelques mètres de la place ST MARC "DUO POZZI" rien à dire sur leurs prestations. Mr MAURE le réceptionniste de l'hotel PAUSANIA a été un homme CHARMANT plein de délicates attentions à notre égard qui ont largement contribué à nous faire oublier le désagrement d'un soir. L'hotel est très bien entretenu dans un quartier calme avec toutes les commodités à deux pas : une station de vaporetto, un pont reliant les deux rives, des restaurants, des boutiques....

Confortablement à l'écart des gros points touristiques, dans un quartier où il y a plusieurs vrais restaurants et un bateau qui vend des fruits et légumes... Notre chambre était un peu fanée, mais les gens sont gentils, c'est très propre et bien chauffé.
