Alright

The best part about this hotel is that it is around the corner from the train station, the breakfast is good, and the staff is superb. It is however located in a dirty allyway, but once I got inside I was suprised it was only 2 stars. The inside of the hotel is pretty nice. The room was big and comfortable, but the next day after I woke up I was covered with bug bites, so there maybe a lot of mosquitos or bed bugs that come out after dark.

Very Happy

This hotel was exactly what I was looking for in Venice. The price was great and it had a great location. The only downside to the hotel is there is no elevator...so I had to walk up four floors every time I needed to get to my hotel room. The breakfast they provide is also good, very simple Italian breakfast. I had an early flight to catch on my last day there and they were nice enough to pack a breakfast for me. I would stay here again especially when I am on a budget. Also, very close to the train station, which is nice after a long day of traveling.

Bad, Noisy, and ugly (in some places)

My partner and I went for a romantic weekend in Venice, when we got to the hotel the front desk was nice giving a lovely welcome to something of a lengthy trip. The staff were nice sometimes, and the room was something I would have expected in a hostel. We were on the second floor at the front of the hotel, which i couldnt have drempt of a worse room........ The room was dusty, with ripped wallpaper, mould around the window, there was no information about the local area in the room, no information about the hotel or well anything. Eventually i found a table by the breakfast room. Getting back to the room, the bes was 2 single beds put together which were uncomfortable, and were just positioned nest to each other (we may as well have had 2 single beds as this is what it was in the end), and now for the bathroom, well one thing was we didnt have a shared bathroom, although the shower area was like a construction site, with holes in the wall, ends of the pipes that had been cut still visible, the old shower and new shower head were still on the wall, and then when you got out of the shower between the sink and the door was a puddle which had to be mopped up as it would be a slip hazard. The walls were paper thin, due to the banging of people going up and down the concrete stairs which echo'd in the room from the top to the bottom of the stairs. After one night of this i did go and ask for a different room, where i got told all the rooms were fully booked, i was shocked to hear this. We did not go down for breakfast till the last morning of our stop this was due to the little amount of sleep recieved throughout our say. During this i must say the breakfast area was clean and as pictured on the site. When checking out i head a gentleman explaning how much he loved his stay and would recommend the hotel to his family and friends, from this i did and still do feel i got the short straw in room choices. I am very disappointed with the service i got from the hotel and would not recommend this to anyone!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are a number of good restaurants within the area close to the town and across the grande canal, the services is not always what we would ahve expected but the food is amazing. As a money saving option i do not recommend using the water taxis as they are expensive and a waste of money. I wanted a taxi from the hotel to the airport they wanted 100euros, i then went to the train station who sent me to the bus station which this bus was 2.50euros per person. If you have the time take public transport you see a lot more that way. Hope you enjoy your holiday :)

Unbeatable price and excellent location

Hard to find but well located near the train station. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. When we first came in and were all sweated because of the 95 degree temperature, the desk attendant brought us a bottle of cold water and helped us get our baggage up the front steps.

Stella Alpina Hotel: Quaint & Charming

This quaint hotel is in an excellent location so close to the train station. The staff is friendly, patiently answered all questions, and offered great suggestions for restaurants, etc. The beautiful garden is a lovely place to rest and get away from the crowds and the noise of Venice. The breakfast has a nice variety of items and is served in a room filled with sunshine and neat furnishings. The small shower with no place for soap, etc., is the only "downside" to this great value.

Charming Hotel

Room was large, right on an alley and a little noisy. Staff was ok, breakfast included. Room was close to train station St. Lucia and easy walk to the sites. No English tv channels.

best value and best location

Great location for an economy hotel, just 150 yard from the Venice major train station SANTA LUCIA. Same distance from hotel to the boat port. The hotel was small but clean. the food was OK and service was kindly. We prepared for an extra day to stay in Venice but all of their rooms sold out.
