THIS HOTEL HAS SEWER PROBLEMS AND THE DAY THAT WE ARRIVE THEY HAVE SEWER WATER ALL OVER THE LOBBY AREA AND THE SMELL WAS PRETTY NASTY, THE ROOMS' CARPET IS NOT CLEAN AND THE BATHROOMS SMELL PRETTY BAD AT NIGHT. THE STAFF IS NOT FRIENDLY AND THEY DID NOT HELP US WITH THE PARKING ISSUE, WE END UP PAYING 29 EUROS PER DAY AT A PARKING LOT

Carleton is pretty Grand
The hotel is close to the bus station which is very handy if you dont want to pay a fortune on transfers. Bus is easy to obtain tickets and can be picked up just outside the airport, all very easy and only 6 euros a person. The hotel is one of the best we saw during our visit the staff are very friendly and happy to help with any question. Quality of the hotel is good although a little pricey on food and drink. Our room (218) had no view but was lovely just the same only downside to tea/coffee facilities). I would definately recommend the hotel and Venice isnt as big as you first think so everything is within walking distance and we had great fun just wandering about getting lost. A great hotel in a beautiful City....Pete

If a street vendor trusts a rose or umbrella in your hand just say no if you dont want it. Haggle with the street stall guys they love it and shop around for food the prices do vary. Just enjoy an amazing City

Excelent location
I really close from the train station y the overral is good, the internet acces is only in the lobby. I will try a another hotel for the price.

Not as per pictures
Good hotel overal; location is great if you dont mind the walk to the tourist attractions. The rooms are fine - clean, comfortable, avg decor. But they are not as good as those shown in the pictures!

Traditional Venecian Comfort
Hotel is in great location. Quick wallk from train station. Hotel is very clean and in quiet area also close to water bus landing. Unfortunately today and yesterday the water busses were on strike so we put on many miles walking over 80% of the Island. It almost seemed like a blessing because it forced us to go out of our way and say many of the bueatiful museams and churches off he beaten path. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Only wish was that wireless was available in rooms and not mjust in the bar area. Staye here many years ago and would definately stay here again. Ciao BABY!

Many of the shops have the same items but prices range greatly. If your not in a hurry, mark the shops where you found the goods you liked and look around for similiar items in less pupulated areas. We saved up to 70%.

Wonderful get away
The hotel is keenly located in front of the Santa Lucia Train Station on the Grand canal. Its staff was very professional meeting all of our requests with kind service and showed concern for our satisfaction while staying at the Hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. We would readily stay at this location in the future because you can easily reach all key destinations in Venice.

Great service, Small Rooms
The hotel was pretty nice, I don't know that it deserves it's 4 star rating. The only thing the hotel really had going for it was a clerk who spoke really good English, exchanged money and had breakfast. The rooms where very small the bed took up most of it so it was hard to unpack. The beds where split in the middle which is common in the country but I hate it!

Diamond in the City
Beautiful Location
We spend two days travelling Venice and this hotel has a perfect location for people travelling with and without a vehicle. It's right across the canal from the main train station and is within a 5 minute walk to the major parking garages on the "mainland". It is on the other side of Venice regarding the typical "must see items" in the city but part of the fun of Venice is walking through the city streets or riding the water bus. It will take you about 20-25 minutes to either ride the water bus or walk through the city to get to San Marco square. The hotel room was small as to be expected from most European rooms but was very nicely decorated in an old world style, the staff was very friendly and the hotel is currently undergoing some rennovations so expect some new updates soon.
