Great place
We arrived at 12 and were told we could check in at 2, but they kept our bags for us and gave us a place to clean up. The room was beautiful, and when we asked for separate beds, they separated them for us. They gave us maps and helped us with whatever we needed, even preparing a breakfast for us at 6:30 because we were being picked up at 7. Nice people, very nice place, and a great location between San Marco and the Rialto.

What we loved the most about Venice was the Piazza San Marcos at night. There are very expensive cafés where quartets play classical music around the square. You don't have to sit at the cafés to listen. Most people were just standing close and listening. It's a magical place.

Super stay at hotel Becher
Lovely hotel - and we were lucky enough to have rooms that overlooked the canal. Interesting to watch during the day, quieted at night. I supposed you could get there by public transportation, but what do you want as your first erxperience in Venice - time pulling luggage over cobblestones and up/down bridges (no matter how good the directions are) or a lovely water taxi that delivers you to the friendly inn's personal dock? I know which we chose and it remains one of my favorite memories of Venice. Close to St, Marks (again, if you get the directions right), clean, well priced, and attendeded by friendly owners. Nice breakfast included - but doesn't have a restaurant attached so no room service. Even so, I would stay there again without hesitation!

The three J's
Darling Little Hotel
We spent 2 nights at this cute little hotel, which is very well situated - about a 10 minute walk from San Marcos in one direction and the Rialto Bridge in the other. The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely nice. The room we had was a triple, and we were very comfortable, but I must admit that the room was pretty small with the third bed in it. (But who spends much time in the room when they can be out exploring Venice?) Breakfast was very good - bread, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. but no hot food. We loved it!

Travel Queen
A Hidden Gem
The staff was gracious and welcoming and very efficient. Our room was lovely, spacious and quiet. Our room overlooked the canal which was charming and the breakfast was delicious with great service. Every detail was handled efficiently. I would definitely stay at the Becher again.

We found a local grocery store along one of the back streets for our water, fruit, etc. which cut down on food expenses.

Excellent Service
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Given canal-view room as requested on reservation.

Convenient Hotel in Venice
Small hotel in very convenient location near La Fenice Opera House. Owners went out of their way to leave us a tray for breakfast when they found out we had to leave at 5 AM for the airport. We moved from a "5 star hotel" that had AC problems to this hotel that had perfectly working AC. They have their own canal entrance, so we could have the water taxi at 5 AM without having to drag our luggage anywhere. Very satisfied with Becher Hotel.
