Good Location but Small Rooms
The location was good for Torino, however, unless you only sleep in the room, it is not worth looking into. I checked in and checked out immediately. Very small rooms and I didn't get a warm feeling of staying there. The place was outdated and had a cold feeling about it.

Great Location for the Price
I stayed at this hotel in August 2009. It is exactly as described: an intimate, three star hotel, very affordable, with minimal "extras," perfect for a seasoned traveler on a budget. I stayed in a single room, and for one person, I found it completely adequate - the bathroom was larger than similar hotels I've stayed in Italy. My room faced the courtyard, which was quiet every day - the street outside can be a bit loud, so definitely request a courtyard room if one is available. That said, the loudness comes from the tram and bus stop, which is incredibly convenient if you need to get somewhere on public transportation. The air conditioning is a major plus. Yes, the breakfast is simple, but Italian breakfasts typically are simple and the pastries were fresh every day. The staff is friendly and incredibly accommodating (and very tolerant of my broken Italian), and the room was promptly cleaned every day, even when I stayed in working until the afternoon. One minor wish would have been for slightly better quality towels (they use the stiff, thin kind that never seem to soak up anything). And internet in the rooms would be another plus, though there is a computer in a salon adjacent to the lobby with a public computer. Lastly, the location is excellent: a five minute walk to the station with bags in tow, one block from the start of the shopping district, and a pleasant walk to all the cultural institutions of the city. It isn't an elegant palazzo, and I'm not sure if I would stay here with my wife and kids, but for individual travelers and couples who aren't expecting lavish amenities, Astoria is quite acceptable, affordable, and worth the money. I would recommend it to friends and colleagues.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
avoid the restaurants right next to the hotel, but two/three streets to the west, there's a pleasant restaurant with fantastic risotto, two or three decent pizza places, and two or three other great restaurants. so, don't pick the first thing you see - explore the area, because there are many great places to eat.

駅から約500mなので徒歩で十分と地球の歩き方にあったが、荷物があるのでタクシーで来ると一方通行でかなりの大回りであった。歴史地区も港湾地区も遠くなく、徒歩観光が出来た。
