The palm trees, orange and exotic plants open into the garden where you will find the Hotel Mediterraneo's pool. It is large with fresh water and has a pleasant fountain. It is located beside a second pool for small children. Here, with loungers and umbrellas you can spend some time relaxing in total comfort (bathing towels provided by the hotel). At night the water and garden are illuminated and create a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy at the bar while sipping the gazebos act real lounges fitted with comfy, wicker armchairs to allow you to enjoy the cool evening air. Dining

Restaurant
Hotel Mediterraneo's gem is its restaurant terrace, offering a fifth floor panorama; you can enjoy a wonderful view that ranges from the Sorrento Peninsula to the Gulf of Naples, with the Island of Ischia in the background. The evening is truly picturesque at sunset, with a red sky and the light of distant villages that crown an area of unforgettable and astounding beauty. The restaurant kitchen proposes International cuisine, with particular attention to traditional dishes from Sorrento and Naples. There is vast cellar where you can choose the best wines to accompany your dishes and courses, as advised by the sommelier.

Summer Blues

This hotel really had a lot of potential. However due to a central air system, when it gets very hot out, the rooms do not cool down. We tried a number of rooms, and they were all very hot. Other than that, I thought the hotel was very nice.

Great view and swimming pool.

We had a very nice room with a balcony overlooking the sea, which was wonderful. The bed, linens, etc are very comfortable and everything was very clean. The hotel has a restaurant, of sorts. It is the same room that breakfast is served in and it is more like a buffet than a dining experience. Also, they offer no room service and all dining shuts down in the afternoon, even at the pool. The staffing in the hotel could have been better. They weren't rude, they weren't very helpful or friendly. They do the minimum. But, I would put up with the lack of customer service to stay at this hotel again because of the property, views and pool...

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Maybe 2 blocks up the street from the hotel is a wonderful, inexpensive family owned pizzeria with carry out. Good food and good value.

Geat location for trips to Vesuvius, Capri, Pompeii, Herculanerum, Napoli, and the Almalfi Coast. Within walking distance from downtown Sorrento (25 minutes), however shuttle from hotel is available.

Wonderful Mediteranean Hotel

This was a beautiful and well equipped and maintained hotel - easily the best we experienced in Italy. It was situated directly on the water at the top of the cliffs. Our room overlooked the bay with Vesuvius directly across the water and the town spread out on both sides. The hotel room was large, well furnished, very clean, and the only complaint was that the shower was modern but small. For wireless internet connections, you need a separate password for each computer or iphone, and the signal is weak or non-existent on upper floors, but the sea views from the upper floors was wonderful. Included breakfast was excellent. Dinner was fine, but somewhat expensive and formal. The nearest restaurant, across the street, was very good, but had limited hours.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Use the hotel shuttle to get to the center of Sorrento, because the city bus ("C" bus) is convenient but unreliable. If it appears, it is efficient and cheap, but it does not appear on schedule.

No better view of the bay of Naples and Vesuvius!

Just a day at the pool is enough to make the stay worth. Everything is conducive to relaxation and enjoyment. Excellent dining options on the top floors with astounding views. Breakfast buffet in same room and perfect. It is about a 15-20 minute solid walk to the center of Sorrento but they have shuttle service if you are taking the Circumvesuviana train in from Naples or Pompeii. GREAT choice.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The town of Sant' Agnello is quaint and has anything you might need. Not as touristy at all as Sorrento and you can catch trains and buses from there to the other side of the peninsula...Positano/Amalfi, etc...
