This a very nice property with very good value for money. 0708 SR Ancient noble palazzo of the 18th century surrounded by an extensive park. Private car parking is available. This property, after a complete renovation, has been transformed into an hotel and opened June 2008. Villa Montarioso is in the North area of the city, not far from the highway exit Siena North. The hotel is located in a very green and peaceful area, just 4.5 kms from the city centre walls (Porta Camollia is the closest city door).

Weird!

This is a nice hotel to spend the night only. Breakfast is ok. There is nothing to do at the hotel itself or nearby. No bar or restaurant in the vicinity. You have to drive to Siena or to the next village 5 km away. There isn't a pool. There is a large green area around the building but it is not inviting. There is no easy access to it, the tables and chairs are dirty (as if they are not meant to be used...)One day we had pizza delivered at the hotel and wanted to eat at the tables outside. They were dirty.This hotel is located at SS222, the gateway to Chianti, a region famous for its wineries. When we asked about wine tasting at the reception, the person just said he didn't know anything about it. [...] offered to help us find it...There is no AC or a fan. The room got quite hot in the afternoon (1pm-5pm) so an afternoon nap becomes very unpleasant.More friendly staff, willing to tell us what there is to do in the area, would make a big difference. A pool and a well-maintained garden ( with clean tables!)would make a much more pleasant stay. [...]Not coming back.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

If you stay in the area, take a day to visit Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti, the castle at Brolio and one of the wineries in between them.
