Spring in Rome
The bed was comfortable. We located extra pillows in the dresser drawer. The maids came every day and kept the room very clean. The location is perfect! = close to metro / buses / restaurants etc. The room contained original marble and wood. The hotel has 2 elevators but the oldest one is most reliable . A huge negative is the noise level. If you go there during the fall or spring months, the weather is perfect for open windows but once the windows are open, the noise is awful! With the windows closed, the noise is less but the room becomes stuffy because the AC is turned off. Also, the internet charges are steep and for use in the lobby.

Excellent location, worked out perfectly
We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Welcome Piram Hotel. I'll start with my dislikes, because there are few, but may help you with your decision. First off, (and I'll take partial responsibility for this one) they need a bigger sign outside......with the people standing on the sidewalk, we walked by the place twice before we actually saw the small plaque by the door. It would have helped to have the street number handy, but my GPS got me close enough. Second, if you are staying at the back of the building near the small alley/street that runs behind, you will get a LOT of noice starting just after 6am. We are early birds so it wasn't an issue, but if you like your sleep, this could be really annoying. Lastly, for some reason, the water took forever to heat up in the morning. The second day, I turned on the shower while I was brushing my teeth and it was just about ready when I finished up. Such a terrible waste of water, but I've long since grown out of "cold" showers!! Now for the good stuff. First of all, it really is close to Termini station. I know a lot of places claim to be and actually are not. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to walk there......even with luggage in tow. (take the Leonardo express from FCU Airport to Termini Station) It's about 14 euros one way, but is non-stop and takes about 20-25 minutes. Second, it is really close to both A & B Metro lines which makes for quick hops to all the major tourist sites. Third, the hotel was really clean and classy inside. They will hold your luggage for you until check in time, and again when you check out if necessary. The area around the hotel was clean and we felt safe, even at night. The room was clean, the bathrooms were in good working order and not too cramped. The rooms were a good size too......and for Rome, that is not all that common unless you are staying in an American chain hotel.....and still not even a guarantee then. We didn't eat in the area, so I can't comment on nearby restaurants. I will say though, if you go to Rome and do NOT get a gelato from Old Bridge Gelateria, you have missed out. It's near the Vatican......along the wall between St. Peters Square and the Vatican Museum. Huge cones for 2-3 euros, and the flavors are amazing with easily more than a dozen flavors to choose from. Try the Chocolate and/or the Blood Orange. Last trip I had the Fruitti de Bosco, but unfortunately it wasn't available this time. Okay, back to the hotel. Well, to sum it up, we'd definitely stay here again. It's convenient, the price was very competitive. It's rated 3 stars, which is fair, but at the top end of the 3 star range. It's definitely the best bang for the buck in Rome so far!! (p.s.....just realized I only rated the staff a 3.....they are not bad, not overly friendly, but not outright rude either. They just didn't seem to really care either way. Maybe a little too stuffy for a 3 star place)

Piram
Staff is not accommodating and appears to not really care if you need something or not. Wanted 2 beds in the room- took 2 days to get it! Not what I call stellar service. Breakfast is ok- very sweet but fresh and tasty. Rooms were ok- smallish but clean.
