The Hotel Victoria, a very first-class house of Swiss property in the heart of Rome, was built in 1899. It is located near Via Veneto, in front of the Villa Borghese Park. Situated close to the historical center of Rome, all monuments of major importance and the trendiest shopping miles can be reached in few minutes walk. The Hotel Victoria is well-known for its typical Italian Restaurant Belisario, its elegant Vic's Bar which dates back to the 50's, its romantic roof-garden, its functional meeting room as well as for its 24-hours valet parking service.

Budget city hotel Rome

Small hotel just 10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps in Rome. Friendly staff and helpful with maps and tourist information. We had a family room for 4 people which was a double bed and two sofa beds. Room had no carpet, but tiled floor which felt more like a dormitory than a hotel room. Small tv in room and small mini bar. Beds had sheets but no duvet or extra pillows. Bathroom was large but shower was old and needed repair to stop leaks. Pink tile decor in bathroom and slightly dirty white bathtub and toilet made it seem a bit seventies. Nice rooftop bar, but not many views from top. Breakfast included, but it's limited choice. We stuck to croissants and coffee. Although fruit was offered too, it seemed to be out of a tin, only fresh fruit was melon and pineapple. Okay enough if on a budget and not fussed over luxuries. Good for families but not a romantic spot for couples.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Wear sensible walking shoes or sneakers during day as you will walk a lot to cover the attractions in Rome. From hotel to the Spanish Steps is around 15 min walk on cobbled pavements and up and downhill

victoria hotel Rome....BRILLIANT

What a surprise; expected less than we got, based on previous experiences in Italy. Well located, everything within walking distance; or a taxi rank 50 yards away; or a metro station 200 yards away. Supermarket in the pedestrian subway at the end of the road; 200 yards away. Staff all very pleasant and polite. Beautiful roof terrace dining and Bar area. Villa Bhorgese park just across the road. Couldn't be much better, especially at the price. Central Rome,,,,COULDN'T be ANY better on reflection.....

Good Hotel

The Victoria Hotel Rome is a nice hotel with small bedroom, large bathroom. The room itself was 3 star, but the hotel is 4 star. Thankfully it wasn't too hot in the evening during our stay, because the a/c didn't seem to work, so we opened the window (a little noisy) The hotel is very nice looking, with a rooftop bar & excellent restaurant. They did provide a more than adequate breakfast buffet each morning with our booking. The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Location was quiet, and a bit of a walk to some of the major sites, so we used taxi's to get everywhere (more $$)

Great Location

Lots of restuarants and shopping within walking distance. Minutes away from the metro to the tourist spots. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have a map layout of the city. Though, they have no parking at the hotel but lots of street parking which was 1 euro per hour.

Hotel Victoria Roma review

The hotel was mainly used as a base for sightseeing during our stay. 100 yards from a taxi stand, and the hotel staff was very helpful. Easy to arrange tours and an airport shuttle at the front desk. Great breakfast buffet (included in the price of the room). The room wasn't particularly large, but comfortable and had a large, separate stand-up shower. Overall, a pleasant place to stay, a hotel I would use again.

Victoria Hotel Roma

Very nice hotel with a great location. Only a block or so to the Via Veneto and situated directly across from the Villa Borghese. We could walk easily to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. The cafe dining along the Via Veneto was excellent. This hotel has roof top dining and a great breakfast which was included in the price. The staff was very friendly.

Perfect location, great hotel

The hotel was great. English-speaking staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great. 5 minute walk to train station where you could hop a train to wherever you wanted to go. About 10 minute walk to Trevi Fountain. 2 minutes to Via Veneto (with tons of restaurants, shops, etc.) Didn't even try the restaurant - too many good ones within a 1 mile radius of the hotel. Rooms were just enough. They're small because we're in Europe, but clean and good. Didn't hear much noise. I would stay here again. Tip: don't take an unlicensed cab! They sometimes charge you 10 times the actual rate. Travel to the airport in early morning (when the Leonardo Express doesn't run) can incur extra fees. Be mindful. If riding the Leo, you'll still need a cab from Termini to the hotel. In all,a great stay. Rome is very walkable. We didn't regret staying closer to the "center" one bit!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a "bar" right around the corner in an off-street that runs perpendicular to Via Veneto. Step out of the hotel, turn left. make a left at the very first street. Then make a right (sorry I don't remember street names). There are two really good restaurants there and one that just says "BAR". The cappucinos and espresso is less than 1 euro, and the gelato and pastries are great. Make sure to stand at the bar to avoid surcharges for sitting (as with any bar in Italy).
