Decent place to stay for the money

This is a decent/adequate hotel and I feel as though I got what I paid for: a 2-star quality hotel located very close to the train station in Rome. The included breakfast is at a nearby bar and is a little more basic than other places I have stayed in Italy (you get a caffe type beverage and a pastry; in other 2-star places I have gotten a breakfast of bread, meat, cheese, pastry, caffe, and juice). One inconvenient thing is that there are 3 linked hotels: Hotel Blu, Hotel Planet, and Hotel Rubino owned by the same people, so if you book at one you might be moved to one of the others. It kind of sucks to have to do this in the rain (as happened to me). But the staff were very nice and several spoke English well, so that is a definite plus. I would recomend this hotel to people on a budget who don't need a lot of ammenities or plan to spend a whole lot of time in the room.

Location, location, location

What it lacked was made up by its location. Perfect for our needs. Accessible to all the important sites in Rome and an easy walk to the Stazioni Termini where we could reach the port and the Airport with ease.

Nice no-thrills hotel at a great locatio

A short block from Termini, so both metro lines and a dozen bus lines within 5 minutes of walk. Quiet, clean, basic rooms.

bed bugs

The staff was good but when we reported the bugs they changed the sheets but not the comforter which is where we found the bugs. The edges of the comforter where rolled up and they where hiding in rolls. The hotel seemed very clean when we entered which makes this most disturbing. I suggest if you do stay here (or any where else for that matter) to check the bed covering carefully. We really didn't expect this from a B&B at the price we paid.

Planet Hotel

We asked for Internet adn were actually moved to the Planet Hotel down the street. It was perfect for a place to crash at night. We left early in the morning and were out for the entire day. The neighborhood was a little "off the tracks".. but the staff at the hotel were very helpful adn had great english.

We would like very much to rate

We would like very much to rate Blu Hotel Rome, however we cannot as on arrival we were moved to another hotel - Planet Hotel which they also run around the corner. No apology and the only reason being that they are very busy. We booked one hotel which we liked the look of and ended up in, what we believe, to be an inferior option. The room was a double when we required a twin and so we were again moved into a very cramped single room which happened to have two beds in it (only just). All in all we were very dissappointed and would not recommend either hotel.
