Better as a business hotel than for fun

We stayed here because it was linked to a half marathon we were running, so it was close to the registration and bus to/fro the race. Otherwise, it was isolated; the walk to the metro was easy, but a bit sketchy on a crumbling near nonexistent sidewalk and no dining options other than the hotel restaurant - not a big concern if you're in town on business and your company will reimburse you for a cab fare or the host company has shuttle buses to dinner. Our internet access never happened, the solution was a voucher for an hour of access - on the plus, this saved us spending the 18 Euro/day for internet access... However, all of the staff was super friendly and spoke English.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The metro is 1 Euro/person for 75 minutes (basically one way to/from Rome) and runs every 10-15 minutes. The hotel bus for about the same route is every couple of hours and 3 Euro/person round trip. Saves a Euro and more flexible if walking is okay with you.

Sheraton Roma

From start to finish, all the staff were impeccable and pleasant with us. Because of an unforeseen closure of the "Club Lounge", due to water damage which needed to be repaired immediately, we received vouchers for drinks, and also received some other amenities which are normally "payable", which the hotel manager kindly agreed to. The rooms on the "Club Levels" are fantastic, and service was always perfect. Beds are large and comfortable, and the room was relatively large, with easy chairs, table, desks, etc. The food was great, and prices reasonable for European standards. Americans might find the restaurant a bit expensive however. My teenagers enjoyed lounging at the pool each day and sunbathing after touring Rome in the morning. We all had great workouts in the super fitness center each day too, which I appreciated very much. Yes, the location is the only "problem" with this hotel, but one cannot expect to find a beautiful, sprawling hotel in the center of a very old city! The hotel bus was reliable and comfortable, and taxis were anywhere between €15 and €20 to or from the center. We bought bus/metro tickets, and with a short, 10-minute walk from the hotel, we were linked to the metro. Three buses stop in front of the hotel also, which take about 25 minutes to get to the city center. The BREAKFAST BUFFET, which I highly recommend taking ALONG with the room reservation, was out of this world. Couldn't have been any better! I would definitely stay there again, and we had a wonderful vacation at the Sheraton!

Take the metro in to the city center, and take the hotel bus back from the city meeting point for free. Buy a 3-day or 7-day transportation card, right from the small "gift" shop near the lobby! Definitely a "deal"!

Sheraton??? Roma MOLD and Mildew 1950's

Well, First the free shuttle was late 45 minutes and Not FREE. 10 Euros( 5 each). Queen bed Rooms were non existent. They tried to first put us in a smelly room on 2nd floor with view of highway 50 feet away with 2 Twin beds. Then With My Gold Starwood card they managed to find a Queen bed as was reserved, but also on 2nd floor, smelly and Mold covered bathroom. 1950's decor/ called for maid service, Mold not removed. Was told there were "NO OTHER ROOMS LEFT IN ENTIRE HOTEL". Stayed Overnight, Been Sick with Upper respiratory Infection for over 2 Weeks. Don't even think about it. Worst Starwood Hotel I've ever seen! Run away!!!

Sheraton Hotel Roma

I really loved this hotel. The service staff was excellent. Th onsite restaurant was terrific and that is a good thing because it is hard to walk anywhere from this location. So, if you don't mind spending more time travelling by taxi or shuttle to get to the sites in Rome I highly recommend this hotel. If you want to walk everywhere don't stay at this location. Hotel to airport transfer was perfect and only cost 5E per person. Very few free English speaking TV channels

Loved it here ,beautiful foyer, rooms small but clean restaurant was a bit pricey, and my pasta dish was so salty I couldn't eat it. Taxis available in 2 mins but it hotel is a bit out of the way to get to rome but they do offer a shuttle bus drop off and pick up, we just couldn't find the pick up point, any way there is just sooo much to see the last bus at 8 pm was too early anyway, would stay again

Overated

We did not enjoy our stay. My husband and I were given a room with twin beds, we asked to get it changed but the clerk said thats all they had. Also they did not have their air condition on and it was very hot in our room , so they gave us a fan.We had to sleep with the windows open which allowed bugs to fly in. The location was terrible, we walked to the train and in route there were homeless people sleeping under the bridge, we also saw some prostitutes hanging out. There was no stores and grocery stores close by. The hotel food is expensive and not very good.
