Best Location in Rome

What a value! Safe convenient location near Termini. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the staff actually sits down with you and orientates you to the city and the hotel. Free internet to check flights and travel sites.Great breakfast with homemade tarts etc. Several terraces to enjoy a few minutes of peace and reflection with your own bottle of wine. We would stay there again.

No hot water

breakfast was great, the front desk was friendly & helpful. This hotel needs management, After running around Rome all day we come back to the room to find no hot water we call the front desk they tell us "WE KNOW" sorry! we're working on it. We decided to go to dinner, we come back 3 hours later still no hot water, we go to bed, next morning still no hot water. We are then told we can use the shower in the health club in the basement which we never evan knew was there At this point things started to get ugly! I felt really bad for the front desk people for some reason they were stuck answering all the guest anger and questions. Finally later (really day 2) a new hot water boiler was installed YEAH! not so fast! upon check out got hit with a charge for coffee & tea left in the room Which we assumed was complimentry. We refused to pay no water for almost 2 days and you want to charge for coffee in the room? This all could & should have been handled much differently, wheres the manager OUT OF TOWN.

Not Sure I would go back.

The women staff very nice and accomodating. The breakfast was very good. Many varied items but don't look for look for scrambled or eggs over easy in Italy. The big downer was we didn't have hot water for almost 3 days and at check out the night manager would not compensate us for the inconvenience. He just shrugged his shoulders. There was a shower with hot water available in the basement gym locker room.

Great location and staff!!!

The staff here was very helpful and helped us with everything we needed from learing Italian to recommendations. The breakfast was above the normal continental breakfast. The location was great!!! 10-20 min walks to most attractions. We never used the metro but it is only a block or two away. We stayed here twice the same week due to taking another side trip to Capri. Our first room was small, clean, and quite. Our second room was slightly larger with a full tub instead of the walk in shower in our first room. If you need a full tub try to request one. We would definitley stay here again!!!

great place to rest your head and good location

Hotel is in a great location, only a few blocks from Termini, next to Santa Maria Maggiore, and via Cavour which will take you down to the Coloseum. Room was plenty big and after letting the air run for a while the room cooled down. Staff was friendly and helpful on directions.

A great place to stay

The very friendly staff were extremely helpful and knew the city well enough to answer all of our questions. The room was clean, comfortable, and had little supply kits in case we forgot shampoo, soap, and etc. Starting the day with that fabulous breakfast made us happy as we went out to tour Rome. We really enjoyed the location of the hotel, and the fact that we simply walked to the train station and all of the main sights.

Buy the Roma pass. You will skip the long lines and all public transportation is covered on the pass. You can buy them at the Colosseum and other major sights. Ask at the hotel desk.

An unexpected pleasure

The staff checked us in quickly and without complications. They provided maps, directions, discussions about choices of restaurants, "neighborhood" things to do, etc. The entire experience was first class. They were better, in our experience, than the much more expensive hotels on the circle where Micleangelo's basilica is located.

A friendly, convenient hotel.

Well located five minutes walk from the train station in the direction of the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain the Rex is particularly distinguished by the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. I had a very limited time in Rome and they provided me with a map and helpful instructions on taking in the sights I wanted to see by walking and using public transportation. The room and amenities were fine. The hotel is located on a side street and is not too noisy. There was a good breakfast buffet included in the price of the room as well as free wi-fi access in the rooms and the public spaces. The hotel aspires to be better than other similar establishments and largely succeeds. The only issues I had were temperature related. The air conditioner had no effect at all on the room temperature, the water in the shower in the morning was only tepid and not hot, and the cappuccino I received with breakfast (in place of the caffe latte I wanted) was likewise only tepid. I received an excellent price on this hotel through [...]and feel I received great value for money.

Firendly and Helpful

Conveniently located near Metro stops, the Termini and the beautiful Saint Mary's Basilica(extremely worthwhile visiting). From check in to check out, the staff was friendly, helpful and cheerful. Internet connection could be slow at peak times, but good during off times. As others have stated, breakfast baked goods were excellent. Do expect the 24 euro local tax on checkout. Not sure if it was just the season, but room temperature controls had no effect. Bathroom was modern and spacious, though some problems with getting hot water for the shower. Everything was neat and clean. The quaint atmosphere of the place was charming, with winding marble staircases, comfortable passageways, tasteful artwork. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

St. Mary's Basilica is a must see, three blocks south. Found a street market, farmer's and others, market a few blocks west on Monday.
