Convenient location

The hotel is not much to look at. We got a two bedroom apartment in the back of the hotel. Very cool in the summer since the AC is blasting. The location of the hotel is perfect, right behind the Vaticans. Local restaurants are very nice. The hotel staff will point you the right away. Close to subways. If you are looking for budget, this is it.

Worth it's cost.

Location was great and it had everything we needed, even an American outlet. Breakfast was ok but the price was right, free. Our only complaint was apparently our timing. At midnight a group was having a birthday party in the atrium and in the early morning the kids were there for early breakfast. This atrium captures sound like you wouldn't believe and let's just say we didn't get much sleep. The staff tried to quiet them at night but it took a while. All in all, worth the price if you want to be next to the Vatican with easy metro access for tourism.

Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover

When we pulled into the neighborhood I had my doubts. It looked a little sketchy and worn down. When we pulled into the parking strip for the hotel, I really had might doubts. When we walked into the lobby it looked ok, not great but not awful. My worries dissipated immediately when we opened the door to our room. Brand new appliances, remodeled bathrooms and kitchens, it looked like they had just gone to IKEA and redone everything. We had a 6 person apartment which had 2 queens in the bedroom with an adjoining bathroom with shower and tub. There were two twins in the living room off the kitchen with a bathroom just off of it with a shower. The room was VERY clean when we got there. It had a full fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and Washer (no dryer and no dishwasher). It was very quiet and about a 5 minute walk from the metro station where you can go right into the city for 1.5 euro. The staff was helpful, there was a great gelato shop about 2 minutes away as well and it was a 7-10 minute walk to the Vatican Museum entrance. We would stay here again. We stayed 3 nights. The rooms also had AC which was nice since we were there during a hot spell in august.

Gelato place just off to your left if you're walking towards the Metro station Cipro. Great flavors, cheap, and open late.

The rooms looked more like little apartments. They had just been remodeled before we arrived. The bathroom was clean, with a nice shower, a bidet, good bathroom fixtures. There was a scale on the floor and a magnifiying pantograph mirror mounted on the wall. The problems with the bathroom were: 1) we needed to wait long for the water to get warm; 2) when we took a shower, we had to be very careful to make sure water did not run off onto the bathroom floor. Two very nice features in the room: 1) a lot of shelves to put small objects from your pockets; 2) wall outlets were dual standard: they had European as well as non-polar American/Japanese jacks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let us check in before the check-in time. They showed us available rooms and offered to select whichever one we liked more. The receptionist spoke at least four languages (Italian, English, Russian, and Ukrainian). The staff was very helpful in meeting our needs beyond the hotel stay: they outlined a sightseeing route for us on the city map, helped us get tickets to the museums, and even explained how and where to get a SIM card for a cell phone. The price was very reasonable. The entire experience was way above our expectation.

Fantastic staff, nice rooms. Next to Vatican Museum

Money saver

Cook your own meal will save loads of money. There was a big fridge in the room, and also complete cookery and dining sets. Superstores are also in walking distance.

Perfect Location for VAtican Visit

Would recommend Sun, Jun 3, 2012
My wife and I were traveling through Italy with a nice and needed a hotel with parking and close proximity to the Vatican. Upon our arrival we were given a a nice suite with a terrace. The suite had a fully equipped kitchenette and air conditioner. The staff speaks very good english and are very helpful with information, free maps, and making reservations for you. The hotel is located very close to the Vatican city wall and about a 20 minute walk to St. Peter Square. The Vatican museum was a 7 minute walk from the hotel. There is a metro station just two blocks from the hotel and a bus station and next to the metro station. Bus line #492, which goes by the front of the hotel, will take you right to the main Rome attractions. One thing about the hotel parking, it is limited. First come basis. We got in by 1100am on a Thursday and there was a lot of parking space. That changed considerably on Friday. So plan accordingly. Also, for a 3 star hotel, it is strange that they do not provide bath soap or shampoo.
