Hotel Pincio is a small, family run hotel making you feel at home in one of Rome's most picturesque spots, at few meters from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. All means of public transportation, including the Metro (line A) are readily available and allow to reach all city destinations, but the vast majority of the touristic attractions are within reach with short, wonderful walks. Via dei Condotti and Via del Corso, Rome's main shopping areas, are just around the corner and the hotel staff is at your service to advice you about happenings, exhibitions, concerts, reservations and the like. Give them a hint on what you are looking for, and they will do their best to let you enjoy your stay. The hotel offers free breakfast to its guests.

Acceptable hotel stay

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Pincio for a week in November 2012. We arrived prior to check in time and they were able to accomodate us. The staff was just average. They spoke a decent amount of English but weren't overly helpful. We asked to check in to our flight and print our boarding passes and they refused which has never been a problem with any hotel I've stayed at before. Speaking of the lobby, it's the ONLY place that you can get WiFi. It's incredibly inconvenient because you need to cross the street and go to Hotel Concordia. It wouldn't take that much effort to install WiFi throughout the hotel and would make an enourmous difference in the customer experience. The elevator situation in the hotel was a little sketchy. There were two: one to get from the first floor to the second and then a separate one to go from the second floor on up. We could never figure out how to work the first floor elevator. On our last day, during check out, the elevator broke and we had to carry our extremely heavy luggage down winding stairs. We called the front desk and theyvsaid that someone was trying to fix it. How about sending someone up to help with the luggage? The room itself was ok. It was VERY small and had no drawers to put clothing away, only an armoire with 8 hangers. I had to live out of my suitcase for a week which entirely blocked off the pathway to my side of the bed. The bed itself was comfortable. While we went in November we had two 75 degree days and the room was a sweat box. The air conditioning barely worked and if you opened the window it was impossible to sleep due to the Vespa noise. The bathroom was the nicest looking part of the room but there was a putrid smell in the shower, like someone just made a bowel movement. It was either the exhaust or the drain. We didn't question it, just showered quickly. Hot water and pressure were better than anticipated. There was a free breakfast on the top floor. It left a lot to be desired but it was free so it was fine. It consisted of some pastries, cereal, toast, scary looking lunchmeat and coffee. They would make a cappucino if you asked but usually didn't appear too thrilled about it. The location is close to the Spanish Steps and there are a ton of shops nearby. There's also a metro stop about two blocks away. I can't compare to what other hotels were like in Rome and it wasn't horrible. I would recommend to never stay here in the summer months though. Cannot imagine how hot those rooms must get.
