Okay but...

This hotel is a bit hard to find, poorly marked. You have to be buzzed in to a muti-use courtyard and figure out that the hotel is on the second floor. There is a tiny, hard to find elevator, I had to walk up (way up) to be told that the elevator existed. The room was up another flight of stairs, adequate but... we couldn't figure out the air-conditioner, the cable TV was incomprehensible with a weak signal, the wi-fi didn't work in the room and the toilet didn't flush. The location is good and the staff pleasant, but unless desperate, look elsewhere.

Besides location, not so much

This is more of a collection of rooms than a hotel. Rooms are spartan, tight. Breakfast good (for continental standards). Staff friendly but not exactly going out of their way. Local phone calls are 12 euros! The location is excellent, but for the money they charge, one should expect a whole lot more.

Nice location, but...

The Pantheon Inn has a great location, as it is very close to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. The hotel itself was difficult to find, however, because there were no signs indicating a hotel was there. (Just an address and big green doors with a buzz-in panel system.) The staff spoke English really well, but were not overly accommodating. (For instance, when my sister had to call her airline for a jacket she left on the plane and needed a translator, the concierge would not call from the front desk. He had to go in her room and call so that they could charge her 12 Euros...for a local call!) The room was nothing fancy and did not have adequate soundproofing, as we could hear our neighbors and the creaking of the steps when people walked on them and on the floor above. From what I have heard about European rooms, however, our triple was an acceptable size and had everything we needed. One thing is for sure, the pictures of the hotel definitely look more enchanting than in reality, though. Breakfast was also fine, but nothing fancy. (Two kinds of plain cereal, canned fruit cocktail, prunes, thinly-sliced cold cuts and cheese, croissants, buns, and coffee and juices dispensed from machines.) Bottom line, although the hotel really does have a nice location, it was pricey for what we got.

Location, Location, Location

While in Rome, you don't really spend much time in your hotel if you're a tourist. This is my second time to the city, the first time staying in the Raphael. Although the Pantheon Inn was much different, it still provided for a great location as the Pantheon, cafes, gelaterias, souvenir shops, Piazza Navona and the Senate are in walking distance. The entrance to the hotel is a huge door and you have to buzz on the left hand side, top left button to be let in. It seems shady but then opens to a pretty courtyard. The (SMALL)elevator is on the immediate right and may take some time to get there but useful with luggage if you have a lot. The hotel entrance is on the THIRD floor not the second. Lots of stairs. Room was decent and bathroom was clean. Provided a safe place to sleep.

Great place for the price !!!!

This hotel is within walking distance to just about all the major tourist attractions in Rome.,, it's clean and pretty comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating.(when we arrived our room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. We asked for another room but there were none available for that night. The next morning they switched us to another, bigger room ... with NO smoke smell !) Our only complaint were the pillows ...flat and hard as rocks! But the pillows in every hotel we stayed in were hard... and that includes a 5 star hotel in Florence. One major tip ... you need to walk up a short flight of stairs and on the right, recessed, is a small elevator. If you miss it you have a long walk up to reception !!!

Great restaurants up from Pantheon. Try Ciro Ciro ... the staff, especially Mario and Joseph, are terrific. Tell them Jim and his family from N.J. and Texas say "Hi" !

Disappointed

Saw all the sites in Rome, fantastic. [...]. Location was good, near alot of sites we walked to. Be weary of gypsies, we got rushed but they got nothing. Many sites we went to, people were yelling out watch for pick pockets. Pictures and movies do the sites no justice, seeing in person is well worth the trip.

Nice, but not what we were expecting.

Once we found the Hotel it was good. There is not a sign outside that clearly marks it. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room, but a bit small for traveling with 2 college age children. There was a large - king size - bed, and then a trundle type bed, and a folding bed that was very small. We basically only were in the room to sleep, so we managed alright.

Great location and clean

We booked a quad room and stayed in room 224. The room was comfortable and clean. Bedding: Thin mattresses but they were clean and linens changed daily. Twin beds for the kids were roll-aways. Bathroom: Nice. Shower was large by European standards and had good water pressure. I'd bring (or purchase your own soap/shampoo) as that provided was meager. Nice toilet and bidet (though I have yet to use a bidet). Room: Adequate for 4 (large king, two rollaway twins). Little storage other than am armoire with room to hang clothes and two drawers. There were two nightstands with a small amount of storage. For longer stays or with more luggage, we'd have been uncomfortable due to lack of storage space. Breakfast: Meager but adequate. Adequate coffee machine. Mediocre croissants (hard) and breads and a few meats. Comfort: Be aware the lobby is on the 3rd floor. There is a lift but it's small and got stuck on the way out. Most of the lobby staff were great. When we checked in, the receptionist pushed us to go to a tourist-trap of a restaurant when we asked for recommendations and made reservations for the same without asking for what we wanted. Other staff however, were very helpful. WiFi: Not throughout the hotel as I had anticipated. Only in lobby. Value: Adequate. Still pricey for what we got but that's the tradeoff when one wants a quad room in Europe.
