Reminiscent of Chevy Chase's European Vacation

It was not allbad. But from the onset of seeing the exterior and furnishing in the lobby of this hotel, one would think you were on the set of Hitchcock remake. The hotel staff, however was quite helpful and accommodating. The bathroom leaves a lot to be desired for Americans who would expect a tub and/or separate from the toilet bathing areas. The room itself was quite adequate, but be sure to specify when requesting a room if you want to sleep in two separate beds. You will require a suite. Breakfast is quite continental. The hotel needs some upgrades that would make it a wonderful chateau. The neighborhood stores in walking distance are absolutely wonderful the store owners are welcoming and there is always someone who can speak English. in that regards there was an easy escape when you wanted to stay local. The hotel is quite far from the center of the city and you will be best by taking the bus and train into town. Overall, I give it a 5!! In the rating its listed as a 3-star hotel, to me it was definitely equivalent to a 2-star in the US and I would have preferred to stay in a 5-star. Otherwise, it was nice and with upgrades to the bathroom and ambiance of the exterior and interior common areas, I would stay there again.

the good, the bad and the really ugly

the hotel inside looks nice;a lot of antique furniture;my triple bed room was confortable;the bathroom was comfortable.Nice people at the reception desk, especially Gina. She was very nice, kind and helpful to us. The only thing We didn't like is the location;the street where the hotel is on looks very dirty, and no safe at all. I won't go back to this hotel because of the location.

Not what I expected!

My husband booked the hotel as a package deal. It said it had shuttle service to the hotel from the airport but forgot to mention that it was 50 Euros!!!! It said it was 5 miles from the city but did not mention that it would take over an hour to get there and that you had to change modes of transport as well. The hotel looked nice but seemed to be built with old fixtures and things. Not what I expected and I don't think I would stay again!
