A comfortable and convenient experience
My stay was comfortable and relaxing, from the friendliness of the staff to the size and layout of the room. It was a real bonus to have free access to the internet. For those who like to walk, it is an extremely convenient location, from the Trevi fountain to the train station or even the Vatican, but especially to the Colosseum which was about a block and a half away. Lots of restaurants to experience throughout the narrow (and main) streets. To those persons who wrote in to complain about the small showers; this is Europe, adjust, I am not a small person but I adapted.

great location
over all it is a nice place. They have a great roof top bar and pool that over looks the Colosseum. A metro station is also really close so you can easily get around. Our room was large and clean. The rooms and hallways needed to be updated though, the carpets were all pretty worn and there were some markings on the wall. Really the only negative thing was that we asked for a car to pick us up in the morning and they never made that reservation for us so we had to flag a cab down after waiting awhile out side

there were two fantastic restaurants we went to. one is called isidoro-get the past tasting-you just tell them some ingredients that you don't like and they just keep bringing out different pasta dishes until you say stop. its done family style-lots of fun. The other one is il bocconcino better value than most of the other restaurants and it was the best tasting meal that i had in Italy.

Bad Experience!
Perhaps the worst hotel I stayed at throughout my trip in Europe. The Mercure Roma Delta Colosseo looks great on paper in terms of location to the Colosseo and also the Metro. However, our experience beyond that was terrible. Upon checking into our tiny room, we found broken stuff all over the bathroom floor with dirt. The drop ceiling in the bathroom also was hanging loose and the couple times we opened and closed the door it made a loud noise and seemed on the verge of collapsing. The front desk did immediately switch us to another room. However, earlier while checking in, we were told that the hotel was completely full. The 2nd room was no better. Once we rolled in with our belongings, we went straight to the bathroom to inspect it. Immediately we noticed there was no toilet paper and the trash bin was never emptied. It was filled with the trash from the previous guests. Also, the bed did not have any bed sheets as a comforter. We had to ask for it from the front desk. The room was extremely hot and suffocating because the air was turned off. We left one of the door keys in the slot so the electricity would stay on while we went out and dined. When we came back the room was pretty much the same temperature. Around 80 degrees! It was unbearable. The front desk said that we just had to leave it on for a while because it was a hot day earlier. We had left it on for 2 hours straight. Any normal, functioning A/C would have cooled a small room no matter how hot the day was. We were also told that since we were on the top floor the sun probably heated our room much more than the lower floors. Excuses do not cut it. Bottom line, the room stayed at around 80 degrees day and night with no circulation for our entire stay. This is unacceptable to any guest. If you need WIFI service, forget it. Make sure to bring your laptop and they will provide you with a complimentary cable connection. Otherwise, you will have to use their slow computer that charges you 35 cents Euro per minute. The pool on the rooftop is a joke. Nice to have to cool down in the summer heat, but it is really an enlarged kiddy pool. Also, be aware of using the pool towels. We saw a staff member hanging wet pool towels to air dry on the roof. Many of them were only partially wet leading us to believe whether they were just being air dried to be reused. So to be safe, bring your towels with you from your room. My suggestion, do not stay in this hotel unless heat and lack of cleanliness do not bother you.

Good view of the Colesseum
(+)The hotel was close to the Colosseum. (-)The hotel was not close to the main train station, so if you have luggage I'd highly suggest getting a taxi from the airport. (-)The bathroom in the hotel room smelled absolutely horrible. My husband and I kept the door shut and held our breaths when we entered. (-)The room was small as well.

Use the train/tram (if you're there for a short time) or the hop on - hop off bus (if you're there for a week or so), before you use a taxi.

Small room , great location
The room was a little small but it served it's purpose. Very close to the ancient ruins. Air conditioning doesn't work that great. Nice view from the bar on the ceiling.

PHENOMENAL hotel!
The day I arrived an extremely polite front desk clerk asked if it was my first time in Rome. It was, so he gave me maps and booklets, told me where everything was and gave me clear directions everywhere. Every question I had, the whole staff answered with a smile. The breakfast buffet was fresh and had a great variety. My room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were even days on my vacation that I grabbed food to-go from an amazing little place around the corner, a glass of wine from the hotel bar and relaxed in my room. The location could absolutely not be better! I had a great time!

Short walk from hotel
I wrote down the name of this amazing little place with great food and amazing service but my suitcase hasn't made it here yet. If you ask the desk clerk where the closest ATM is, it's on the same corner. It has a blue neon sign. I think it's S. Clemente. It's within 150-200m of the hotel.
