19th century hotel in center of Rome
The Mecenate Palace Hotel is comprised of two buildings, the first built in 1887 overlooks Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore. The second building was constructed a few years later and sits adjacent on Via Carlo Alberto. Both buildings have been renovated to restore building facades and Roman interiors. A panoramic rooftop garden serves lunch, dinner and cocktails. Complimentary breakfast is offered for guests and a gelateria featuring handmade gelato is open late. Close proximity to Termini Station and underground stops make Rome’s attractions accessible.

The Metro system entrance is just down the street, use it, buy the day pass for 6 euro, good for 24 hours.

Lost reservation...

Upon arrival, I was told my reservation (made several weeks in advance) had only been spotted the very morning because of "e-mail problems". I was re-located to a nearby hotel of same standing although I did not like its appearance and location as much as the one I had booked myself into. I was told I could come back for breakfast if I wanted...

Überzahltes Vier-Sterne-Hotel

Einzelzimmer klein und neben Lift gelegen Personal nicht sehr hilfsbereit Minibar überteuert, nicht aufgefüllt bei Ankunft, dafür später auf Rechnung! Frühstück mangelhaft, Kaffee um die Ecke viel besser Lage für eine alleinreisende Frau nachts ungünstig, unheimlich Fahrt zum Flughafen 58 Euro mit Hoteltransport (ich reiste mit Shuttle für 5 Euro) Rom ist eine grandiose Stadt, dieses Hotel jedoch nicht zu empfehlen

Hervorragende Lage

Das Hotel liegt gleich bei Santa Maria Maggiore - alle interessanten Punkte habe ich gut zu Fuss erreichen können. Der eine der beiden Herren am Empfang war arrogant und unfreundlich.

Dålig

När min syster var framme på hotellet, ville personalen byta hotellet till en annan hotell , det var ingen bra intryck från början. Min syster tyckte inte att Mecenate Palace Hotel Rome var fyrstjärnig!!
