The 1920s-era Ludovisi Palace Hotel in Rome has enough flapper flair balanced with mod dapperness to please both history buffs and anyone looking for a comfy vacation spot. A renovation in 2001 brought English - style ambience to the establishment, with rooms decked out in sunny shades of blue and yellow, and tiled floors and original fireplaces making the communal areas both impressive and cozy. Grab a sightseeing tip or two from the friendly staff as you try the lobby bar's cocktails and snack menu, or tap into the free Wi-Fi (fees may apply) to catch up with work if you're in Rome on busines

just arrived

We have just arrived, decided to come to Rome and have never been here before did know what to expect, read so many reviews, not all good, some quiet negative, I read watch out for taxi drivers for transfers. We pre booked could not have had a better transfer, snowing when we arrived. Ludovisi Hotel again many negative reviews, room size no bath, etc. Hotel is lovely, clean, rooms plenty big enough, what do want a suite! Warm, -1c outside, very quiet in Hotel, Staff couldn't be more helpful. Reception fast clear and friendly.

WONDERFUL ROME HOTEL

The Ludovisi Hotel is a great place to stay. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. The location is in the best area and very near to all the sites, including transportation. Walk to the Spanish Steps, two blocks from bus route on Via Veneto. The common rooms for breakfast/bar/lounge areas are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good with a large selection. The rooms are fine with a very large bathroom, everything is very clean. And the hotel has an air of European sophistication -- small but personal and well appointed. Will definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again.

Great location, great staff

We stayed at the hotel 3 nights (2 adults, 2 children). In spite of arriving well ahead of the official check-in time, we got our room right away. It was very large, spacious and very clean. The hotel is located on a very quiet street, minutes away from Piazza d Spagna and other great sightseeing spots. Breakfast is included in the room price and it was perfect. The hotel was fully booked (August) so the breakfast room got a bit crowded at times, but we always found a table and there was always an ample variety of breakfast items available. The staff was extremely friendly and made our stay a pleasure!!

Ludovisi Palace Hotel service exceptional

The hotel location was very close to Central Rome. Your in walking distance of restaurants, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed a tour of the Vatican, St Peters Cathedral and a tour of the Colisium. The tours provided transportation of pick up from the hotel and transportaion back to the hotel. The room was spacious and quite. Also the hotel provided every thing we needed.

Half Term Break

Comfortable hotel close to all the things we wanted to see. Very helpful friendly staff. Would have been nice to have had a restaurant in the hotel but plenty of good ones close by.

Perfect hotel for leisure travel to Rome

We stayed at the Ludovisi Palace in Rome for 4 nights in Sept 09 for pleasure. I regularly stay at Westin's, Marriott's etc for business. This hotel was around half the price of the Le Meridien Eden and the Westin Excelsior (both a block away) and although the rooms are more basic and the hotel is not full service (although the front desk is staffed 24 hrs), the professional attentiveness of the staff, combined with the cleanliness of the rooms made the stay very enjoyable. If you are used to staying in top hotels for business but have sticker shock at the prices of these hotels in Rome ($400 plus/night) then the Ludovisi Palace is a good alternative when travelling on your on dime! The rooms have minibars, marble bathrooms and are spacious enough. THe location is excellent for a long weekend leisure trip to Rome and the location (less than 10 mins walk to Piazza Espana) makes this a great location from which to explore the city. The hotel bar restaurant is small and basic, but other than the included breakfast you won't probably use it as there are so many other restaurants in the neighborhood within walking distance from the hotel. As a tip - try to get a room overlooking Via Ludovisi vs. an internal courtyard facing room.
