The Albergo Artorius is tucked away down a little sidestreet but is at the centre of everything, with all the sites within easy walking distance or easy access to bus/ metro for sites further away such as Vatican City ( although I am 62 and still
found this to be in walking distance even after climbing the steps to top of St Peter's basilica dome (550 steps) and walking around vatican museum.) Hotel is perfect for, location, comfort, amenities and cleanliness but its most positive assets are the most wonderful staff . Nothing is too much trouble, all speak good English and are happy to give as much time as required to satisfy your queries or to recommend sites or restaurants to eat.
The breakfast in the hotel is an experience as, it is taken in a gazebo within the courtyard garden and the awray of breakfast items is sufficient to satisfy the most fussy of paletes, I know because I took one with me, my wife.
Three doors away from the hotel is a delightful restaurant which serves, what I would call, rustic food, this being tasty food which sticks to your ribs and keeps you satisfied for ages and all at a reasonable price.
The hotel is under going some refurbishment work at present (May 2012) which means some noise, but this is restricted to daylight when most visitors are out sight seeing so should not spoil your stay.
I cannot praise this hotel highly enough but down side to this is when I return I may not be able to stay there due to it popularity. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.
