Unprofessional Staff

I never write reviews but my experience was so bad I had to share. I stayed in December 2010. I was booked for almost a week but left after 2 nights. On the second night, the night attendant accosted me and attempted to follow me back to my room and made inappropriate sexual comments. Up until that point it actually had been a good experience and a fairly decent location. However, since this just happened last week I believe the staff member is still employed by the hotel and if you are concerned about your safety when you travel don't stay here.

Quirky Boutique Hotel

Ended up in Rome and extra night when a flight canceled and stayed here because it was cheap and in the area near friends. Staff was friendly. The building is interesting, with a buzzer system and a small elevator going up through the middle of a square flight of stairs. The room was simple, but adequate. The hotel charges an exorbitant amount for their wi-fi, but I was able to find an open network out my window to an interior courtyard. Bathroom was roomy for Italy. Bed was comfortable. Hotel is close to lots of shopping and restaurants. For some reason, they want you to leave the key at the front desk every time you go out.

I loved the location and the staff

It is next to a full service deli that serves an inexpensive dinner, lunch and american breakfast. Eggs and bacon are tough to find for breakfast in Rome. The more upscale restaurant next door to the deli had delicious food but a tad high priced. Loved the location best of all, downt he street from the upscale Sofitel hotel. Walking distance, with tennis shoes of course to shops, tourist sites and great food/wine. Highly recommend it for the traveler that doesn't need much in the room, but a upscale area.

Take bus tour recommended by hotel on arrival. Its a great way to see the main sites, or just to hop on and off when going around city. We used it to go out at night to sightsee some more and to eat near the Trevi Fountion and Spanish steps

Quiet street, good location

The room was big enough for 4 and had good air conditioning (important in summer!). We arrived before check-in time but they were able to get us in our room. The staff was very helpful in advising how to get around town, how to plan the days spent in Rome. There are plenty of restaurants in the areas to choose from, and for getting around town, the Metro (subway) is at most a 10 minute walk. The hotel rooms are on the 5th floor (yes, there's an elevator) so there is no street noise.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

This hotel is conveniently located near the lovely Villa Borghese (a large park), the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi fountain. Walk a little further and you will get to the Pantheon and the charming Piazza Navona. If you enjoy walking, you can visit a lot by foot from this hotel's location.

Poor Location and Customer Service

The front desk did not know about our prepaid reservation so we had to adapt to what rooms we received. Two out of three front desk personnel were rude. One was very nice. Out of four European cities we visited this trip, this was the only Orbitz hotel we signed up for and it was the worst one for the price. The breakfest area was the worst of the trip as well.
