Good and Bad
The hotel was nice overall, but pretty dated. My entire single room was smaller than my bathroom in Germany. There was black mildew growing all over the ceiling in the bathroom and bedroom, and wallpaper peeling with mildew in the bedroom. I talked to management about it and they moved me to another room without any problem. IN fact, they upgraded my room at no charge. The first room was on the top floor, and they said that they were having problems with the roof leaking over the winter. I wonder why they'd put anyone in that room without fixing the mildew problem. It wasn't all bad though. The service was great, it had air conditioning, and the breakfast was above average. The location was awesome. Two blocks from the local Metro station, and the same distance from the Colosseum and the Forum. There were a lot of great restaurants close by as well. I'd stay there again, but be sure to request a room not on the 4th floor.

Short walk from hotel
Wonderful homemade pasta, seems to be a spot for locals. I went there a year and a half ago on my honeymoon and then last month for the second time. The best FOOD! We were welcomed into Naumachia. It is located two blocks from the Colosseum at 00184 Roma-Via Celimontana, 7. look it up at [@]. Look for the ship logo on the outside of this corner ristorante and pizzeria.

good hotel
This is a nice hotel in a quiet area of Rome. The room was small but big enough for what my wife and I needed. Continental breakfast was okay, nothing special. Staff was not overly friendly but took care of our needs.

Quiet stay with perfect central location
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Fori Imperiali di Cavalieri. I was travelling alone and had a single room which although relatively small was perfectly contained, spotlessly clean and well laid out with plenty of storage for clothes. The hotel is very quiet and is tucked away down a side street so there is no real traffic noise. In fact I barely heard a thing or another person while I was there which was great for a peaceful trip. All the rooms have air conditioning which was absolutely necessary during my August visit. The hotel staff were very polite and eager to assist with any queries I had. They helped me to book a ticket for an opera showing and to find directions to various out of towns sights and attractions including the catacombs. The location of this hotel is just perfect for tourist sights. It's only a minute walk from the Colosseum metro stop and you literally walk out of the door and are in the area of the Colosseum, Foro Romano and straight into the main city. As I was alone I was a little worried about coming back late at night but this area felt very pleasant and was always bustling with tourists. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity of this hotel and I had no problems finding somewhere to eat in the evenings. Just around the corner is the Via Cavour which is one of the larger streets in the area and has takeaways, souvenir shops, a post office, lots of restaurants and leads up towards Termini train station about 15-20 mins walk away. The one small (and it is small!) downside of this hotel is the food service. There's no room service or food other than breakfast so if you arrive late you have to go out to one of the takeaways or restaurants nearby - although these are numerous and literally round the corner. Also the breakfast buffet lacked any fresh fruit juices or fruit salad (they did have apples/ pears etc.) and was quite carb focused. Overall though I really enjoyed my stay at this quiet little hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Always check the prices of drinks, especially wine, when you are ordering food. I found wine to be unbelievably expensive and at one restaurant I had a half bottle of red wine that cost me €18 and was only of house quality!

Great Location
The location was perfect. It was on a quiet side street and everything was still a walk away. The service was great and the breakfast was a great way to start the day. My parents had a balcony off their room. The rooms were small but we did not spend that much time in the room.

SWEET , Clean and Cozy!!
Highly recommended. A+ location. This was our 2nd trip to Rome & we are active 50'ers. Inspite of terrible directions to the hotel(just simply exit the metro staion at the Colliseum AND TURN RIGHT- go 2 blocks) We fancy 4 star hotels and we like a deal (but a nice one). This was a very pleasant surprise. Staff was so helpful, small clean room, quiet, great breakfast buffet, good shower,& comfy bed & pillows

This is a basic hotel, as far
This is a basic hotel, as far as facilities are concerned, and does not claim to be anything else. Room is very clean and adequate ( book double, not single, as single very small!), and breakfast is good. The best thing about the hotel, though, is the location - in the centre of the old city, at the bottom of Via Cavour, and within minutes of the Colisseum and the Forum. Beware - do not ask directions from Internet maps; mine were very complicated. In fact, follow the Via Cavour all the way from Termini to iys bottom, and the hoyel is signposted at the bottom. All in all, an excellent base from which to explore the old city of Rome.
