Camping?

First of all, had to take the subway and the train to get there. Then from the train station in the middle of nowhere, walk across the highway to arrive, not at a hotel, but at a CAMPING site!!! From the reception, we then had to walk 1/2 a mile under the heat to reach the bungalow! Well, we never made it! Turned around and found a hotel on the Pantheon piazza to recuperate from the flight and all and reorganize... On top of everything, they refused to cancel any part of my reservation, even the nights 2 weeks later at the end of our trip!!!

Clean and friendly staff

My husband and I stayed in a small bungalow, it was all we needed, nice, clean and comfortable. It wasn't far to the free train that takes you into Rome, the only problem was we had to walk next to alot of fast traffic. The room was clean and if we needed towels or toilet paper they will get it for you, also they keep the rooms clean. It was alot of walking in the park but it was well worth it.The restaurant had excellent food & it was top notch! There is a little store there also and you can buy some neccesities or have a drink & hang out and listen to music, play cards or chit chat with others & it stays open later. We had a great time and plan on going back with our family next time and rent one of the larger bungalows

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The price isn't too bad for what you get and you can be in Rome pretty quick with the train that takes you right to a nice area where you can get on the metro that takes you almost anywhere.

Like Staying in a Camper/RV

This is essentially a campground with permanently affixed camping trailers. Difficult to find. Peaceful with fresh air during the day but a bit noisy at night. There is a dog kennel next to the campground and they barked all night, so light sleepers beware. There is a nice pool with deck and snack bar. They have laundry facility to wash/dry clothes but they cost 5 euros each! The bungalows have their own private baths but they are so small the heat and humidity can be a problem. I used the campground bath facility and found it to be more spacious and VERY clean and well maintained. A good value if you are trying to save money and they include a free breakfast buffet too.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

If you arrive late at night, there is a considerable walk with your luggage since the golf cart shuttle quits operating. If using public transportation, take the train which marked by a blue sign outside the Flamino plaza Metro stop. Be sure to press the stop button for the Due Ponte station stop or the train may not stop. The campground is a 500 meter walk from the train station. Avoid the buses. I repeat, avoid the buses if you want to save time and stress.

Relaxing

Positive: great location, clean bedroom and bathroom, great AC, staff very friendly & helpful (info & bar), good pool (not heated), close to train to get to Rome, easy parking, the village is very clean, large area for evening walks. Negatives: beds are small, no change of towels (we stayed 3 days)
