Great location and Comfortable

Like many of the rooms in Europe, the rooms here are fairly small. The shower is a nice size, has good pressure. The television works and the staff is helpful. The breakfast is good, too. Overall this place is fairly average, but I would stay again. It's a good value.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Purchase a multiple day pass for the vaporettos (water boats). Don't nickle and dime it. It's worth the investment and saves tons of walking to ride the boats around the great canal.

Center of Rome

Hotel is in center of Rome. Cannot beat the location. Little difficult to find as it is in 4th floor and other floors are different hotels. Small elevators. But staff is really good and we had good breakfast. Walk to train stations, but with luggage need a taxi -cost 11 Euros.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

You can walk to most places. Take bus to vatican in front of hotel. But be careful in bus with pickpockets.

Fantastic Staff!

We had a great time the staff was great. Helpful but not intrusive. The low mark we due to the air conditioning wasn't up to cooling as it should, but there was a nice window and we were on a high enough floor that when we were in the room it was safe enough to open the window for a nice breeze. The breakfast was quite nice too. We would definitely return for a visit.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Short and long walks are nice when using a map, but we had difficulty navigating Rome after dark because the map street names were quite small and the street signs are difficult to see. Take a taxi after dark it will save a lot of time.

One week in Rome

Hotel is well centered and with in walking distance to atractions, the bus station is across the street And the train station with in a 10 minutes walk. There is a lot of small restaurant serving wander full food behind the building. The room was really clean and comftable but a bit small, wouldn't be comfortable for more than two people, but overall is a graat value.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Do not eat close by Vatican, Castle San Angel, piazza del Popolo, etc. Terrible expensive food, I recommend eating at small restaurant behind the hotel.

touring italy

When we arrived at the hotel we noted that there were ants in the bathroom, the staff immediately came to spray for them, but had to return 3 or 4 times that night due them returning. They were unable to give us another room that night due to being at capacity, but did inform us that they would move us the next day. they did move us first thing in the morning and gave us an upgraded room. Otherwise hotel was nice and the location was good

3 Time visit to rome and great location

I have visited Rome 3 times. My last two times I have stayed on the same street a few blocks from each other . The room photos you will find online are accurate. They are tile and marble floors that are clean no carpets but that way you know it is clean.. The rooms are simple rooms but a huge value for the money. Remember you want a safe, clean room just to sleep at night. They do have breakfast which is tradiditional of cheese, meat, pastry, yogurt and cereal. (Simple and easy). If you compare it in Europe it is fine. If you are use to a US breakfast with eggs and bacon don't be upset. This simple style is what you will find almost everywhere. Location is key. Across the street is your bus stop. Bus 64 will take you direct to the Vatican in about 12 min. If you go up 3 blocks you could take the subway. I recommend if it is your first visit take a tourist bus for ONE day to do a loop of the city and that is close also. There is a visitor center across the street also. REMEMBER beware of pickpockets in the bus and public transportation. The front desk will help with directions and local map. Take your time and enjoy the sites. There was not an alarm clock in the room which I have not found in any of my three stays so I bring mine. Don't forget it is not US power but you can get a converter at a local store. The annex they advertise is in the same building. I was scared it was not. You have to go to the bottom floor and go 25 ft to the other entrance of the building. The elevator is the same in most areas VERY old and small but ok for your bags. Finding it. I had read reviews that you can't find the place but you can. Use the address on the website and I looked and a steet view online google earth and you will see to look for JACK JONES sign on the building and the entrance is there. IT IS ON THE THIRD FLOOR. If you go to 3 and it is a different hotel you are in the Anex. I recommend for your first time go in the foyer and if traveling with someone don't take all your bags up until you are sure where you are staying. CHECKING IN always takes a few extra min because they copy all your passport information. This is normal. Wifi is somewhat there. Not everywhere did it work and could be slow at times but the breakfast area had it and the reception he best. I stay at all major hotels in the US for work. However on my own money and adventure I want clean, safe, location, and value and this was it. If you like to lounge in a hotel lobby and need a restaurant this is not for you. There is food all over and remember you will be out all day to visit and see the sites.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Download on your iPhone or pad or grab the book of Rick Steve's or at the library. It gives you history and in most of the same stuff for the audio guides and tons of hints. Don't pay for extra tour guides at the Vatican or the museum that are in he street. It is not needed. I paid a extra 5 euro at the coliseum for THEIR GUIDE but if you download ahead of time it is good.

Excellent location, a place to rest the night

The single room was small but clean, the bathroom was surprisingly big and clean and had a giant window (frosted glass) that provided lots of natural light. The hotel is located in a perfect central location to start all your walking trips to all the sites and beyond. The staff spoke great English (and Spanish!), and they were great in giving people a map and pointing out places to go upon check-in or answering any questions. I'm not sure I would ask them for restaurant recommendations, but other than that, they were great. If you're planning to be out most of the time (as you should!), then this is a great place to come back and rest for the night. Actually, my routine while I was there was coming back around 5pm, grab a drink at Castroni (next door and a great place to grab Italian candies to bring back as souvenirs), and then I would take a nap, before going out for the night. I would recommend if you're traveling by yourself. Not sure how much bigger the double rooms would be.

Do like Italians do and grab an Aperol Spritz or an espresso after work at the bar at Castroni (next door to the hotel). Friendly staff and a great way to meet people.
